Unhappy just needing support

It seems its never going to end. We started this process in Sept 2005 which is when we signed with our agency. There is been delay after delay from our end because we moved and now in Guatemala.

Isabella is 7 months old now and I still have no clue when we will have her home. We were last submitted to pgn Nov 28 but I have no clue if we are still in pgn or kicked out due to ratifying a birth certificate. I see all these people coming out or already have their babies home that received referrals the same time as me and its killing me. I am so happy for them and their little babies.

Isabella is over there growing up without me and I cant do anything about it. We received a wonderful video but it was so bitter sweet. She is sitting up on her own and looks so beautiful. I just dont understand why it has to be like this for some. My son ask everyday when Isabella is coming home and all I can say is I am sorry but I dont know. I am trying to stay busy but its getting hard to do that. Well thanks for letting me vent. I dont know what I would do without this board and all of you.

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, I'm sorry you are feeling down. We are right there with you. We too have had delays with our adoption. We signed w/our agency in August 05 and rec'd our referral on Feb 15, 2006. Our baby will soon be a year old. We were sub'd to PGN on Sept 25th with 1 KO so far and are still waiting. It is really tough, especially since this will be my first child. I am very glad to have the support from everyone here. We all have to just stay strong and keep moving forward. I hope you have some good news soon!!!!

Hi Jennifer--

Looks like our timelines are similiar. I am going crazy too. I am in quite the funk. My poor coworkers yesterday kept asking me if I was OK and I just said yes. I was scared if I started talking about it...I would never stop! I feel like I have not smiled in days! My son asked if we could get dressed in the morning and fly to Guatemala to get the baby. I wish! I truly wish I could say something positive to you right now...but just know that I am in the boat with you and by the way--where are the paddles? This stinks.

On the posistive note--at least you received a video! That is cool. I received a photo from her Dr.s appt and she looked sooo sad. Perhaps, I am projecting!

I don';t understand the quick outs either! I am very happy for them, but goodness it is depressing for me!

Hi Jennifer,

I am so sorry that you are in so much pain. This process is so grueling and so unfair. Just know that some days are worse than others. Allow yourself to be sad, mad, frustrated, fed up.... Tomorrow is another day.

I will keep you in my prayers. We just got out of PGN yesterday after being in for 234 days. I never thought I would make it but, I did. You can make it. Hang in there...

Jennifer:

My thoughts and sympathy/empathy are with you and your family. There is just nothing easy about this process and for unknown reasons it is harder in some cases than others. We are in a similar place - our little one is 7.5 months old and we received his referral at 2 weeks. Our last PGN entry date was 11/21. Most of our delays were around the DNA process so it took us forever just to get to PGN. I do know how you feel watching younger and younger babies go home - happy but melancholy. It is hurts the heart and I have no magic cure for the wait. Just keep the big picture in mind - she will be coming home and everyone says the heartache will melt when that happens (hard to believe since my heart has never felt so heavy before, but apparently its true). You will be able to share so many firsts and developmental milestones with her. I hope you get some good news soon!!

I am so sorry for you. I wish there was something that made sense in this process. Nothing at all does. Some go fast, some go slow and some dont move at all. I dont understand that. Please know that we are all hear to listen. My first adoption was through the Hague mess. I never knew if Giovanni was going to come home at all. But he did and here I am going through #2. Like a bad pregnancy, when its over you forget just a bit how bad it all was. I am praying that you hear something soon.

Jennifer-
I know how you have been feeling and the holidays seemed to have made everything more difficult. Just know that your day is coming. PGN is so difficult and there just seems to be no rhyme or reason.
My baby was also born on May 19th and her name is Isabelle!! Hopefully we will both see some progress soon so we can get our daughters home!!!!

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. If it helps any - our "baby" came home 1 week before her first birthday. She's now 14 months and still very much a baby. It will be okay!

I am sorry you are going through this wait too. I know how you feel. We received our referral at 2 months and didn't get our little boy home until he was 13 months old. It is such a hard wait, but when the day comes to go and bring her home all this will be a memory. I remember people telling me that I would bring jeremy home, but at times I didn't believe it. Please try to remember that it will happen and probably when you least expect it. We have had Jeremy home now for a little over a year and It is hard to believe that he hasn't always been here.
Stay strong.
