Nanny websites
Has anyone had any luck using one of those nanny websites? What we're looking for is someone to come into our home 2 full days a week for childcare, not to live with us. I know some sites indicate they will do it part-time and non-live in. I'm wondering if these are reputable sites. Any advice...thanks!

Mother's helper ??
Have you thought about contacting your local high school. They often have childcare classes and students will accept part-time positions as mother's helpers.
I have several friends who have gone this route and it has worked out beautifully for them.

I am a nanny and here are some tips -
I think that like anything else you do need to be VERY cautious and have that person pver at least 3 times before they begin working for you. Have them over the first time and play with the kids and you stay there also to make it more comfortable. The second time you stay for awhile and then go and run an errand for an hour or do. Then 3rd time leave when she gets there and stay away longer. It will make the transition MUCH easier for you and your family and also the nanny. If you post an ad in the local paper that will work, it is where I found a short term job. The current job that I have and have had for nearly 6 yrs I actually overheard the lady telling a friend that she needed a nanny and I approached her. I think word of mouth and friends might be able to help. My friends babysitters all have friends looking for sitting jobs. I think that the nanny ads will work also. It doesn't hurt to try. If you live in Michigan I could find you a great nanny! Good Luck!
