For those of you who have switched agencies...
If your paperwork was complete and you were waiting for a referral, would you switch agencies? Does all the paperwork have to be redone (including I-600?). Any thoughts are appreciated.

I was almost finished with my Dossier and had submitted the I600A and been fingerprinted when my first agency went out of business!! The new agency used most of the paperwork I already had, the 600 is fine no matter who you use...one of the things I asked the agencies as I was trying to find a new one is how they would handel this switch and if I could use the same documents...hope this helps

Hi, We switched agencies after having our dossier complete (and in Guatemala) for about 12 weeks. We also had rec'd our I 171h a couple of weeks prior to switching. We had to redo some of the things because our new agency is very careful with the dossier.
We are very glad we switched and our new agency was so helpful! Feel free to pm me if you have questions- Jill

I have had several families switch and they typically have to redo 'some' of the dossier, but not all. It normally happens if paperwork isn't up to the standard that our attorneys require, or if they just don't have some of the documents we require.
Good Luck!

When we switched, we only had to redo documents that our new agency found errors in (errors that our old agency missed). It wasn't much trouble, though.

I switched pre referral and had a difficult time getting my dossier back from agency 1 but eventually did get it back and I didn't have to change anything.
Good luck!!

It really depends...
On the agency. We had to add some documents that the previous agency didn't require.
Good luck!
