# of children available for adoption vs. # of families adopting
Anybody know the number of children available for adoption in Guatemala and the number of families hoping to adopt? Or perhaps the % of availbale children that find families. Just curious. thanks

I think there are more available than are adopted - maybe not many, but although some agencies have a waiting list for a referral, most do not. In fact, several agencies that I know of have babies waiting for placement. They are scouring around looking for paper ready families. I don't know if that's b/c of the looming Hague or what.

I believe that they are more children than there are adoptive families. I agree most agencies are scouring around looking for adoptive familes to give the children to.

Our agency has more babies than people adopting. They always post how many are waiting for families.
