Exclamation Does anyone know anyone who knows someone who works in or near the office that

updates US passports?

I know that the internet makes this "world" smaller and there is the theory of "7 degrees of seperation". Could you help me? We need to get our passports back from being updated so that we can noterize them and photocopy them. Then, we could apply for pink.

Otherwise= maybe no Gabbie for Christmas

Please help,
Jennifer

Where is the office? I work downtown in Washington DC -- near the US Passport Office -- but I don't know if that's where they update passports. Would be thrilled to help if I can.

I know that you can call and get expedited service over the phone. I did when I was putting together our dossier. You have to pay a fee with a credit card, we then received them in about 3 days.

This is the only official U.S. Government website for passport information. If you have a travel emergency, please call the National Passport Information Center to speak to a Customer Service Representative. Website for Passport Information.

We had to get our's expedited a few months ago as well. I had applied for the regular route than we decided to do a third visit so I had to call and have them expedited. It was an additional charge (by credit card) but they got them right back to me.

Have you tried to get in touch with your Congressman's office? I had to do that when I was having trouble a couple of years ago getting my passport. They called and I had my passport in just a couple of days. I had to pay to have it overnighted to me but that was all. The congressman's office was very nice and efficient. I hope you get it taken care of quickly.

How long has it been since you sent them? I agree, I think you can still expedite them through S.S. Also, congressmen can help-- a friend got her passport in a few days when her daughter was having surgery while on an exchange trip to Germany. Good luck, I know you'll get them back soon and you'll be able to apply for your pink!

Jennifer, can you use an expediting service? I did for my son's when we needed to make a trip to El Salvador. If you need the info, pm me. It is expensive, but they can turn them around in 2 days.

Thanks guys. I forgot to add that we sent them last Tuesday. We paid for expidited service which usually takes 5 days but with the holidays in the middle of it- I think I may take longer. We sent them an overnight envelope. They said that next Tuesday or so we would get them. However, I am not comfortable with this considering we have to get them noterized and sent down with our I-600 in order to get submitted for pink.
I think we are cutting it close and would love to have a couple of extra days of playing room so we can be sure to get her before Christmas.
Thanks for all your help. I will have to call that nubmer you gave me. Also, I recieved a pm that was helpful too.
Thanks for thinking of me,
Jennifer

Keep us posted on what's happening!

Jennifer,

Keep us posted on what's happening and when you do get your Passports back. I pray it happens ASAP and that you can get them notarized and down to Guatemala. I too suggest you contact your Congressman to see if they can expedite any of the steps you need to finish.

I too know how hard it is too wait, I waited thru the Hague Problem 3 yrs ago, and was one of the lucky ones to have Maria's case be approved and I brought her home, one week before Christmas.

Your family is in my prayers and I pray your down in Guatemala soon to pick up that sweet little girl.
