Our little boy's name is Andres so we call him Andresito. We also use the nickname cachetón (Cach-aye-TON) which his foster family used. It means 'chubby cheeks'.

My son - Rocket - because he likes to think he's fast.
My other son - Goose - because when he was a baby he used to laugh when we called him a 'silly goose'. This is a very serious nickname though, we knew some people who didn't even know what his real name was because all we ever call him is Goose
My daughter has many - princess, the girl (by grandpa), Hobie Wan (Like OB Wan only with a girly twist), I could go on and on. We're big fans of nicknames, but the kids have to earn them

We call our son "Monkey." It started when he was a baby and he would hold on like a little monkey when we carried him.

He has nicknamed himself "Cat." If he introduces himself to people, it's as Cat. This has been going on for over a year (he's 3 & 1/2). We have to pretend he's a cat a little bit every day and he calls our cat his kid. Our son is a goofball.

I don't have a nickname for Liliana yet.

I call my son Bear. He will not accept any other nickname and reminds that his name is Bear! I asked him what he would like to call his sister when she gets home, what should her nickname be. He said we will call her nic-bear!

We've had several for our kids thoughout the years but the one taht has stuck the most is Karly. Her real name is Karlyn (Car-lynn) Eleanor and we had planned to nickname her Ellie. On her first day of Kindergarten the teacher asked her what she wanted to be called (until this point it had always been Karlyn) and she thought for a minute and said, "Karly!" Since that day everyone at school has called her Karly. Few people even know her real name. Karly fits her SO well too, so she was right! She has also had "sissy" and sweet pea as her nicknames.

Kollin has always been "brother" which turned into "bubba" when Karly and Karaline couldn't say it. He still refers to himself as "bubba" when he's helping Karson which is so sweet. He'll say, "Let Bubba help you with that."

We call Karaline "Kara" quite a bit and Kara beara. When she was a baby it was chunky monkey which turned into chunky monk.

Karson has been called "Karson barson" a lot. When he was smaller we called him stink bug which turned into tink bug which turned into bug. LOL We still call him bug a lot.

Red face Good Thread!

My girls love for me to call them different names...not nicknames really but just different names. They will not let anyone else do it but me and say that is how they know I love them that day...if I call them a different name. Usual names are Sally Sue and Laura Lou, Phil and Bill, Jake and Buford....just silly made up names. They now are calling Makan and Max Buford and Herman. Weird family I know!

Our daughter Liliana we most frequently call "Lily" or "Lily Grace" for obvious reasons. She also goes by Sweet Pea, Flower Child, Honeybunny, Tiger Lily, Water Lily, Day Lily, Easter Lily, Gracie-Grace etc....

Our daughter Susanna we won't meet until next week. I'm not sure what nicknames she'll go by. We do sometimes call her Susita when we're talking about her, but given our propensity to use alot of knicknames, I'm sure she'll have alot more once we get to know her better! <3

Nicknames

I called my oldest Pooh Bear or Pooh when she was little but as she grew up she was just Cailla no nickname ! We do call her Sissy sometimes !
Caitlyn was pooky from the day she was born until she was about 5 or 6 ! I mostly call her Caity or Caity Lynn . At a church function about a year ago there were four Caitlyns so she announced her name was "Billy" and it has stuck ! A lot of people at church call her Billy !

I've been calling my 5 year old DD Monkey which then became Mookie which then became Mookie Wilson.

Yeah, the retired baseball player. ROFL! She has no idea who it is and I prettymuch have my own joke going there. Yes I am crazed.

My daughter is very small, so I call her "squirt" or "squirty" a lot. Other names used is "shorty" "bebita" "Miss Mia". Her grandpa calls her Mia Mya.

My oldest son Joshua is "Bubba" because when he was small, he wanted to grow up and be Bubba from In the Heat of the Night. It just stuck!

My oldest daughter KarreyBeth we call "Sissy". Her younger sister says "I not Sissy, KarreyBeth Sissy". It is really cute!!

We call my youngest, Savannah, is PunkyDoodle. She has been since I met her in Guatemala at three weeks old!

My youngest son Brian, is Pumpkin or Little Man or Handsome Man. He smiles and ga-ga's at you with either of those names! His sister's tend to call him "Ittel man!"

I love nicknames for kids! I think it is adorable to have pet names, although I have had people tell me they about fell out of their chairs when they hear us my call my Savannah "PunkyDoodle."

God Bless, Nancy

I've been calling Alex my little man. I think that's the one that is going to stick. I've also been calling him my buddy - but it gets confusing since our dog's name is Buddy!

We call Timo "Moco". It means booger in Spanish! I know it is not very nice, but it is so cute on him, and since he always has something trailing ou of his nose, it also fits! DH's family is big into nicknames, so we had to give him one before someone gave him one that was really bad. For example, some people in his family call me "Crack". My name is Dawn, and it is for the crack of Dawn. SO NOT FUNNY!!! Every time they call me it, I ask them if they really want to see the Crack of Dawn.
