Well,

From other posts most of you know that on monday our file got rejected from the US embassy for our 1-600. Today I called the Ambassador's Secretary in Guatemala to see if she could help us out. She took my information down and called back later and said that the Embassy is saying that they have no record of our file and so basically they are saying that my Laywer is a liar and she never sumbitted it. I don't know what more to do. It seems like this will never end.

Wow, that is terrible. I have no ideas but I will keep you in my prayers that this is resolved quickly!

Your file is with the DHS division of the Embassy. They do not communicate with anyone via phone you need to email them. The file only goes to the consular section once it has been approved by DHS and sent to the consular to issue pink and appointment.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. I totally understand your frustration as nearly the same thing is going on with us except we are waiting for PA and they claim to have no record of our file. How can they possibly lose this many files??? I'd be fired for keeping track of my cases like this .

well thanks for your 2 cents but I think that a goverment official can talk to someone in the Embassy if they want to. They don't probably email people.

Well I had the same thing happen to me and the file was with DHS and the embassy said they didn't have record of the file being submitted. I received a copy of the reciept for pink submission so I know my attorney hadn't lied. Just trying to help.

We were rejected on Monday for I600 too. I'm wondering if the file ever made it into their system because I'm pretty sure they told the attorney of the problem right there at the window. Just a thought if the same thing happened to you...

Did you send down a new I-600? Is your agency not communicating with you as to if you've been resubmitted? We were re-submitted yesterday since the attorney had extra copies of our I-600 on hand.

I second guatemalteco. Are you positive that this person you spoke to checked with the right place? Anyone I have seen here who has had issues with Pink lately who has tried to call has gotten no where, but was able to get information through email.

I got an email back from the US Embassy and it says they have no record of our file....

Here is what the email says,

"Dear....,

We have no record of finals being submitted or attempted. We must have the
I-600 completely filled out with original signatures. "

Well that stinks! You have a great timeline so far. It seems crazy that your attorney is lying to you at this point! What is your agency saying?

Hmmmm... Is it possible that the person at the window rejected the file immediately? What I mean is perhaps they never took it in and issued an I-72, but just took one look at it and told your attorney to get a new I600? That's the only explanation I can think of (beats thinking that your attorney is not being honest with you).

Ok, editing and adding something here. I just re-read what Guatemalteco wrote (didn't understand it the first time -- am feeling flaky today, what can I say). If your file is still with DHS, then the embassy wouldn't have a record of it, and while the e-mail from them would be correct, your attorney still may in fact have resubmitted the file. I hope this is the case! Let us know.

my agency is doing all that they can. They are great... But what more can we do. We are here in Texas and everything is in Guatemala.

I know that we were rejected a day later. Our file went in on Monday and then they called her office on tuesday to let her know to come and pick it up.

I don't think she is lying with so many other people being rejected for similar reasons...

But the ambassador's secretary told me that the US embassy would never do anything to hurt people's cases and she kind of got made at me for incenuating this.

I too am have Embassy trouble. I e-mailed both the DHS division and the Consular section to determine where my file was. They both e-mailed me back and said the other section had it! After lots of digging, we finally found out that is was still in DHS. I know that they are requesting more documentation (than they usually do)for our particular situation so I wasn't suprised to see others having issues. Let me know if you'd like the e-mail addresses I have (can I post them here? I don't know, I seem to always get in trouble for that!) PM me if you want! Ok I'm confused!
Someone please help me out here.
If you get an email from US Citizenship & Immigration, is this DHS or the Embassy?
I understand that the Embassy won't have your file until it has been approved by DHS and sent back to Embassy for the pink appointment.

Therefore, the embassy might say "we don't have your file" because DHS has it.

So who is who?
