Amber, the cost of air tickets is going to depend on where you're flying from. We depart from Miami, and the typical cost is $400 for roundtrip tickets. You might go on one of the online sites and put in your departure city just to see.

Our hotel cost for a 4 night stay at the Marriott was approximately $500. That included the breakfast buffet. The other meal costs will depend on if you eat steak and lobster or order hamburgers from McD's! If you're trying to cut costs, bring lots of snacks with you and skip a meal.

I booked airfare last week to travel during Christmas,

The airfare was 528.00 round trip from Cincinnait
The Marriott is 85.00 per night including the breakfest buffet.
I am planning on $20.00-30.00 for meals each day.
I am also planning on going to Antigua one day, so that will be $50-100.00 per person, but I have not checked current rates.

I hope this helps,

For us, airfare was about $1200. We never left the Clarion, and went to dinner in the hotel one night, and got room service once our son arrived for 3 nights. Our bill (including my mom) was about $800.

I felt airfare was high, and the Clarion was extremely reasonable - especially since they didn't add extra's into the room service bill like hotels in the states do.

Just booking now.. Flights are $627.00 each RT from Tampa to Miami to Guate. I'm going 11/22-11/27.

Crowne Plaza is $73+22%tax per night, incl. brkfst. staying 5 nights is ... around $450.00. So..
for hubby and I it's looking like a total of around $1800.00. UGH...

Not to mention I plan to buy stuff at the artisian market.

Good thing I'm in charge of the travel plans... I'll tell him the total bill after we get home!

My DW and her aunt are going over Thankgiving and airfare was about $750 each - both are flying out of smaller airports in California and Missouri and we expected to have to go to larger airports, but the fares were no better.

One thing, though: they are returning on Saturday. When we looked at returning on Friday, airfare was 1200+, so shifting the trip into the weekend save mucho dollars.

Try and stay on the executive/Concierge floor. The room cost is only around $15 a night more, but it saves you more than that in food and drink costs. Water and non-alcoholic beverages are free and they have snacks. There are heavy appetzers at night. I ended up eating there for dinner every night. Over the weekend they don't have the heavy appetizers, so you might want to consider that. The rooms are also bigger and the lounge is quite nice.

Airfare for three (Me, DH and our 4 year old) $1606 (Price was $457 per person, then a bunch of taxes for international travel) This included all taxes except $3/person Security tax you pay as you leave

Hotel 4 Nights at Marriott: $89/night + 22% hotel taxes includes breakfast buffet and airport shuttle = $434 This was a good deal. Seems like a number of folks pay a little more a night. I called the Marriott 800# and the lady quoted me WAY more a night. I told her I wanted it for $89 a night including breakfast buffet or else I was going to stay somewhere else. She pretended to look up a discount and then "found" me the rate I told her I was willing to pay. (Made sure to specify breakfast & shuttle to be included)

We're not sure about food since we're not going until Nov 30. Hopefully it won't be too bad!

Hope this helps!
