? for anyone waiting for pink, or just rec'd pink
I'm trying to get a definitive answer on passport photocopies. The JCICS website just says "copies" -- not color copies.
Anyone get pink recently that had to submit notarized color copies of their passports? Or did the embassy accept black and white copies? (this would be for an IR3 visa) I sent black and white copies a few weeks ago when I first heard of this. Now we're being submitted for pink, and I don't know if we'll get rejected or not. Thanks for any info!

To be honest, Ive never even heard about color copes. A long time ago our agency asked us to send copies of our passports, so we scanned each page and emailed it to our agency. Therefore they had to be printed in black and white. We were submitted today (I think) but our agency is usually on top of these things.
Were you submitted today too?

Stacey, I don't know if it will be today -- "early this week" is what I was told. I think I'm going to send another set of notarized copies, in color, via FedEx today just in case.
(What's another 60 bucks for FedEx at this point?  )Unless someone tells me they got pink with the b&w copies. Let me know when you get your appointment!

We were submitted last week....hoping to hear today...please. We scanned our passport and sent them down to be printed out. I had not heard about the color copies until people on the board started talking about them. My agency was annoyed they were asking for all the pages because that is not supposed to go into effect until the end of the month (and you can not tell one blank page from another....so it is just stupid).
I will cry if this part doesn't just go smoothly!! Jess

Copy Entire Passport?!?
What's this about copying the entire passport?!? I thought just the photo/sig page and the Guat immigration stamp from our visit trip? We did do color though.

mamaA, the general consensus is you only need to copy the pages with information on them, including the stamps to prove you visited.
The thing no one seems to know is whether the embassy is requiring color copies, or if they are accepting b&w. The rule is so new that my agency doesn't know. I went ahead and FedExed color copies, just in case. If we get rejected, at least our facilitator will have what he needs and can resubmit us right away.

We were submitted on 11-7 (last Tuesday) and haven't heard anything. I am so fearful that the embassy has issued an I-72 and we just don' t know it.
I didn't sleep at all last night. I just want off this ride!

No Color
Hello everyone,
We got pink last week Wed. and our appt. is 11/15. We are packing up and getting ready to leave tonight. We sent black and white copies of our pictures and the pages with the dates showing when we entered and exited Guat. We did not notarize it. My agency told me this: The notarizing of passport copies will go into effect for families as of November 27, 2006. They didn't mention anything about color copies. I hope you get Pink soon! Mary

My agency has me covering all bets and making one color copy and one black and white copy, and getting them both notarized..... when I get to this point it will definitely be after the 11/27 cut off point.

Just for everyone's info -
(and for what it's worth) Another family from our agency (who was submitted today to the embassy presumably with us too) called the embassy and asked about pinks. She was told by the embassy to expect to get pink on Wednesday and to travel the week after. So that negates the concern that they may not be issuing many appointments next week. The person at the embassy said they were really full right now with back-to-back appointments (she was pleading her case because of a family emergency to get an appointment sooner). Believe it or not, the person at the embassy said they would try to squeeze them in on this Friday if they got pink by this Wednesday!

I sent color because a family at our agency got an I-72 for sending black and white copies! Better to be safe than sorry!

We sent color copies of the main page of our passport as well as the page that shows we made a visit. We were also asked to get the copies notarized. So we did. Still waiting to hear something. Got out on the 27th of October.
