Back from Guatemala safe and sad

Hi, guys. I've taken a little break from the forum because it was just too hard to see all those PGN short-timers getting out. Then, last Thursday I went to Guatemala City, for my third visit with our precious little angels. I arrived home last night and I will honestly say that leaving them yesterday was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Then, in the Customs line in the Atlanta airport, I saw a family bringing home a Guatemalan baby that was not a day over four months. I felt sick. Sorry if I'm not a very nice person right now, it's just a very difficult time for me. I know that I should be happy for all the short-timers, but I'm just not. I'm super-selfish and I just want our babies home. Our daughter is three years old and her little brother is almost seven months. We have been in PGN for approximately 108 days today.

Sorry for the venting but I figured if there's anywhere I can do it, it's here. Good luck to everyone.

Based on a few requests I am going to create a yahoo group that we can use for our club. Several people felt that it would be good to be able to talk about agencies, attorneys, "outside help" etc. since most people are at a point of trying to advocate for themselves to get things moving.

I'll post later today once I get the group set up and I will PM those of you who have replied to this post. In the meantime, if you have questions or requests for the list please PM me.

Love you guys.

Hi everyone,

Just a note to tell everyone to hang in there. Brighter days are ahead! And I think it's normal to be envious at times of others that can bring their children home quickly. It doesn't mean we are bad people, just human, and as long as you don't let it consume you, it's normal.

I love the new icons, and I've already picked out a few I want to use.

Green with envy for someone getting out of PGN

The icon I will use when I get out of PGN.

Hot trotting it down to Guate to pick up our baby!

Okay, guys. I have set up a Yahoo group and PM'd everyone who posted to this forum. If I missed you please feel free to PM me and I'll give you the link.

This is NOT an attempt to replace adoption.com. Just to provide us with a private place to chat about our long wait and to exchange ideas on how to get our cases moving.

Thanks Rachel for taking this on. I would like to be a part of this group. I had no idea that there were so many of us stuck in the black hole hoping and praying to get out by Christmas. This is truly the hardest thing I have ever had to endure. The support from this group has been a life saver!

I just want my little girl home!

Unfortunately I'm in this club too - but am about done with it. I've talked with my agency about recinding my petition to adopt if my case isn't PGN approved by the end of the year. Unlikely - since it's still tied up in investigations with no end in sight. So basically I'll spend the next month and a half working through what to do next. Whatever that is it probably won't involve Guatemala. I admire everyone who is able to deal month after month with this heartache-and maybe after the holidays I'll feel differently. But for me right now it's just too hard. Jees - I sound pathetic and have made myself cry.....again....sorry everyone...meltdown going on..

Hi! I'm not quite a long timer, but I know I will be! We were stuck in Family Court for over 4 months! (Is there a 100 day club for that? If so, count me in!) Now, we've just been kicked out of PGN with 4 previos! We have to add an addendum to our homestudy and notarize, certify, authenticate and translate before going back into PGN during holiday season!

I'm angry because we've lost over 4+ months of time because of things out of our control. Even if things would work like clockwork for the rest of the process, I doubt we'd bring her home before her first birthday.

Prayers for all you longtimers!

Certainly would love to be a part of the new Yahoo site since agency employees lurk on this forum. Wish they spent as much time working on cases as they do "spying." Hope the "members" for the Yahoo site are screened carefully! Thanks for allowing me to add my 2 cents
As you can see from our timeline, my husband and I have been stuck in and out of PGN with our "normal" case since May 30th.

Hello everyone, I don't post much anymore but here's our story. We received the referral of a wonderful little baby boy last August. We were breezing along just fine, entering PGN last November. Well, two investigations later and who knows what the heck else...we are still waiting to come out of PGN. My birthday is Monday the 13th. The only thing I wanted was to be out of PGN and it doesn't look like that will happen. The prospect of having Eli home by Christmas is beginning to quickly fade as well. He will turn 18 months old on my birthday! I am just sad, sad, sad!

Don't know if I'm a longtimer or not...but sure feel like it. We were matched with our daughter when she was a little under one month old and she will turn 1 on Wednesday. It seems like every step hasn't been real easy with us except PA. It took has 4 months to get dna approval and have the dna taken so that slowed us up big time. Monday we will have been in PGN 9 weeks. I know many of you have been in pgn much longer. I would like to be included in the other group too. Hope we all get out soon!

Count Us In!

We signed with an agency last October (2005), picked up a new agency in January and accepted 2.5 year old Vannessa's referral in April. After 6 months of trying for DNA, the case moved to abandonment November 1. So, even though it's only been 7 months since referral, we are definitely "going platinum". Our daughter is already 3 and will probably be 4 before we get her home.

I am disheartened to see SO many long-timers, but I'm so thankful to have someone else who understands my pain. Thank you all for your support and I'll be praying for the families of all these children.

I really don't want to be a long timer but, I am. We brought our first daughter home from Guatemala when she was 6 mo. old so that makes this even harder for me. I just recently went through some of the clothes I thougt our second little girl would be wearing only to get extremely depressed knowing she will never wear them because she is already almost 8 mo. old.
We signed with our agency in Jan. Had our home study update done in March and accepted our referral for another baby girl on March 30 when she was 7 days old. Had our DNA approval in May, SWI and DNA done on June 19th, PA on July 17th. Out of FC sometime in August only to go back for many mistakes. We spent 15 weeks in FC. FINALLY entered PGN on Oct. 2. KO on Oct. 26. I have no idea if we are back in PGN or not. My guess is not because everything in my case seems to be going wrong and taking forever to fix.
I am at my wits end with the whold process it is soooooo hard to get through the days as our baby gets older. I know it is all worth it in the end but, getting to the end is very very hard.

Another long timer here too! We went in PGN for the first time on July27th and have been Kicked out 2 times since. We just went back in for the 3rd time on November 6th. Hoping and praying we all hear good news soon. It's so disheartening to see so many long timers. Add me to the yahoo group as well.

Hi All,
Our story started over 3 years ago. We created dossiers for China, Korea, and Russia. Each country didn't work out for various reasons but we were none the less devestated. Finally, we were matched with our son, Liam in Guatemala. We love hime more than we ever thought possible. We have been in PGN for 182 days He most likely will not be home for Christmas and the thought breaks our hearts.
Good luck to all of you. I am hoping to heat great news from all of you very soon....
