I qualify ...I'm Kris, my husband is Rik. We are in our late 40's. My timeline is pretty self explanatory. It's nice to know we are all here for eachother...some days are harder than others, but I do know our children WILL come home and I know I am blessed .

BTW, I should be doing this instead of being on the computer.

Kris

Count us in!

Hi,

I'm Laurie. We started our process August 05' and by our timeline you can see we've spent some time in PGN since June 23rd. Some days are better than others. As I am posting this message I am getting the "Thursday Night" anxiety because I know come tomorrow starts another weekend to try to get through. Monday's are always hopeful and I've never been happier to get throug another weekend! How strange!

Glad to know we are not alone, it's nice to have support from people who are in the same place.

Hi everyone...sorry to see so many people on this thread. We are hoping to graduate from the long timer thread soon. It has been such a long hard process and really only you guys understand how hard it is to be in this for so long. We started this adoption process on Feb 1, 2005. If you had asked me then if I would still be waiting I would have never believed you. The waiting can just be heart breaking.

We accepted the referral of our son in January when he was 9 days old. Now, 10 months later, we haven't even started the actual adoption because his birth certificate had his name spelled wrong. (It didn't match the inscription of birth) We are just numb. How could a stupid typo take this long to fix?

Hello,
Wow...it just hit me that I am such a longtimer that I started a group like this one (called the Platinum Club) that lasted a couple of months...that was a while ago. I use to put up a spread sheet too (kinda like the PGN list) with details of what everyone was struggling with. Does anyone remember when we had that going?
But that is how long I have been doing this...so long that I cannot remember our other longtimer's group.

We started the process in May 2004. We were ready for a referral Oct 2004 (that slow start was our fault).

We recieved our first referral Anabeli in Dec. 2004. We lost her referral in Arpil 2005...this was after a visit trip in Feb or March2005?...I can't remember. THIS WAS VERY VERY HARD. This is a long story if you want to know pm me.

We recieved the referral of Ana Gabriela June 2005 when she was 2 days old. We had a SLOW start and did not have DNA or family court till Oct 2005. We hired outside help in Sept/Oct 2005. It has now been a year since we hired outside help. We expected to have Gabbie home last Christmas. BUT, we did not. We entered PGN last December. We had the "new", as of 2006, minor birth mother interview. Based on this interview we were put into PGN investigation. We got back into PGN ? We got kicked out of PGN ? I cannot even remember all of it. What I do remember is that we were resubmitted 9/29. WE DON'T WANT TO MISS ANOTHER CHRISTMAS WITHOUT ANA GABRIELA (GABBIE).

Thanks for reading this story. I have seen MANY groups of people go through this process and it gets lonely to make friends and then see them go. I haven't been on the forum as much as I use to because I kept having to make new friends and then...well you know.

Sorry that you all are having hard waits
Jennifer

Count us in. Reading some of your replies was like reading parts of our story. My husband, Paul, and I started with accepting a waiting child in Sept 2005 before we were completely paper ready. He passed away in November 2005. About 3 weeks later we accepted Rudy's referral when he was about 2 weeks old. Now he turns 1 in 2 1/2 weeks. Everything about our process has been long as you can see from my timeline so in anticipation of a long PGN stay, we're going to visit at Thanksgiving and stay for his birthday. It's the only thing that's keeping me from going crazy at this time...

We are in the same group as all of you. We were paper ready and received our referral 01/19/06. We were told that she should be home by the fall. (No minor birthmom or abandonment. ) We visited in May and were told DNA and PA would be done in the week. Well no DNA until June. We got into PGN AUg 1st. Kicked out 10/03 resubmitted and then on 10/27 we were not "technically kicked out" again but something was not translated correctly. This was fixed w/i the week. Her 1st birthday is 12/12 .We thought for sure she would be here to celebrate it with us and the holidays. Now I am trying to accept the fact she may not be here for Christmas. It is getting harder to stay calm and not down. We keep trying to figure out if it is our agency , facilitator, lawyer,or fate that is making this so long.I guess we all just need to hang in there and have faith. They will all come home.

I've been waiting for DNA authorization for over a year. I did hire outside help about five months ago. The explanation from the agency doesn't match the explanation from the outside help. Both explanations make sense, but neither helps me bring Jane home.

It's not good. Just not good.

A good friend of mine just got back from Guatemala today. They had a very long process. In any case, if you go to Guatemala Adoption Information and News Guatemala Adoption Information and News right now, there is a link to a newspaper story on them. I think many of you who have been waiting a long time will "like" the sotry as you'll be able to connect with their experience.

We're in....accepted referral when our baby was 2 days old. He's now 7 mos, 1 week, and we've been in PGN 16 weeks with one KO. Our timeline was moving great until we hit PGN.

I'm still holding out hope for Christmas!

I guess I too can enter this club. We started our process in August 2005. It took us 7 months just to submitt our dossier. We counted 11 errors that occurred just trying to get this ready including one secretary of state screwing up our docs and they had to be redone and a different state loosing our papers for awhile. Long stays in PGN and very long waits for pink. I can't wait for this whole adoption to finally be over.

Hello, I just posted for the first time here yesterday but we are long-timers as well. We are adopting a beautiful girl & spunky boy (not bio). Our girl will be 1 on Friday and our boy is now 10 months. Here's the scoop:

Accepted & lost 1st referral Jan/06
Accepted our girl & boy referral Jan 25, 2006
DNA done Feb & March
Out of FC end of April
Wait about 6 weeks for the SW to get their act together and finish their report
Enter PGN 6/5/06
Find out in minor's and have ** interview 8/10/06
Out of minors into the "real world" PGN 9/11/06
KO'd for a mistranslated word or two 10/4
Resubmitted 10/6
Hanging out for what is the end of week 22 in PGN.

Well....Today my son turns 7 months old.....In the beginning of this process I was told it will take 6 or 7 months for your baby to come home. I just knew he would be home for Thanksgiving and we would be ever so grateful. Well we join the 100 day club next Saturday the 18th. I am an interior designer and I have a HUGE presentation scheduled that day with a very important client. How will I wake up that day and do it? Where will I get the strength? Below is my time line. I know it by heart now. For those of you that have not heard anything in months and months, I believe that you may have probably had some previos you are now aware of, but I am not sure. I am now on my third KO and not sure what the third one is for. My agency said PGN was promising that they would do all KO's at once....well so much for thier promises. I am as most of you descibed numb.....and as a person who loves life and my son...I am paralized.

April 9 son was born
June 23 DNA was a match
July 17 Pre-Approval
Aug 10 Entered PGN ?
Aug 22 Re-do of POA-original attorney was banned
Sept11 found out about KO with two previos.
But letter from PGN was dated Aug 11- one day after entering
Sept 25 Re-entered PGN
Oct 22 were told about another KO with a prevois
due to our POA having to be re-done
Oct 23 re-submitted into PGN
Nov 8 found about a third KO- don't know why yet?
