Hi, everyone. We are getting ready to send out our adoption announcements and I'd like your feedback on something.

We are thinking of wording it like this:

"With tremendous joy we welcome NAME to our family."

Born DATE, Guatemala
Joined our family forever DATE."

Here's my question-- we're certainly not trying to avoid using the word adoption or anything, and it should be obvious that we've adopted, but does that language make it sound as if we don't want to use the word for some reason? We mostly just like the idea of it being a "welcome" notice, rather than an adoption announcement. Not sure if that makes sense, but that's what I'm thinking.

I really like this approach and in fact have planned on doing something similar. It comes across to me as warm and welcoming. I agree that its obvious enough you have adopted .

We welcome with love.........
Born............
Forever ours.........

Thanks. I like "Forever ours" better than "joined our family." I was trying to think of something else, because that felt like she had joined a club or organization or something.

We have had many many compliments on the wording of our annoucement, which I thought was funny as it is just straight out.

If you wanted to use the word adoption, you could maybe say "Joined our family forever though adoption" or something...?

Born in our hearts on REFERRAL DATE
Forever in our arms HOMECOMING DATE

I agree that the part of the baby being adopted should be obivous!!! Anyway, what you have is great!! I think it should reflect how you feel, so I really like "Forever ours" better than my last line!!! Just trust yourself!! It will be fine however you decide. Just one request, PLEASE share when you get them done!! We want to meet your little angel!!

It sounds good to me! My friend did something similar. Little Man came home at 3 Y/o so most knew he was adopted. They wanted a warmer welcome announcment than "We Adopted" or something along those lines.
