Can I use any papers/docs from my adoption 2 years ago?

I am ready to start the paperwork again. This part is what I hate the most. Do I have to get fingerprinted again? What about all of the other things they need to compile the homestudy etc? Are there any shortcuts the second time around being that I did this a few years back? I doubt it but I REALLY hope so. I hate this part

Congrats on being ready to start again! I am just starting our second too, we are pretty much done with the paperwork. Almost everything has to be done again, but I found it a lot easier than last time. I had almost all of my docs done in two weeks, whereas last time it probably took a couple months. Yes, you will need to get refingerprinted, do a new I-600a, and get a home study update. The update was a lot quicker and easier than a whole new one since they were able to use most of our info from the last home study and just change some things and add parts in about our daughter. They did need all new docs though. We were able to use our BCs and MC because all the same people are in office, but you may need to get new ones of those also. I hope you find the second time around easier paperwork-wise. Good luck!

You will need to do all of your paperwork over again just as Lotterino said. We even had to do a whole new homestudy. I think that depends upon the state that you reside in. It is easier the second time around!

Good luck and Congrats on your decision!

I'll second that--our longest holdup this time was the fingerprinting by the State Police for the home study, and that took 2 weeks in itself. Everything else was done in about 2-3 weeks.

How I wish we could have just copied everything from last time, but it wasn't quite that simple.

And, while we're at it, could we reduce our wait time by the time we spent waiting the last time around?
