Your case was turned over to the Consular Section of the State Dept who has sole authority for visa issuance on October 31, 2006. You should be receiving your pink slip within 48 hours.

But our file was submitted last Thursday... Does this mean they are running behind schedule? Has our file all ready been approved we are just getting the appointment scheduled now? What????? A couple of us that were submitted on Thursday have gotten this exact same email so we are wondering what it means exactly. I thought they had to issue pink within 48 hours of receipt of our file unless there was a problem with the file.....

As I keep reading this again and again and again. It says to me that we were not submitted for pink on Thursday like we were told but instead were just submitted today and now our 48 hours is just starting which means we won't hear anything about pink until Friday or Monday correct? Does that sounds right to anyone????? Why oh why would the agency tell us we were definitely submitted last Thursday. To shut us up????? Because that is what the attorney told them? Shouldn't they have gotten a receipt or something just to avoid this kind of emotional torment for the parents????? So close and yet it keeps getting put off again and again....This started with us being told we were orginally submitted 10-18........

Oh I'm so sorry! It just never ends does it? I'm not sure what happened there but it does sound like you may not have been told the exact truth. That has happened to me several times as well. It is so frustrating. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. When did your agency tell you that you would be travelling?

Don't you wonder how many times people think that the Embassy is taking a long time for Pink when in reality the agency doesn't know the real date that you went in? I don't know if this is the case for you or not, aimwait5, but it kinda sounds like that, doesn't it?

Did you write to the Embassy and get this e-mail in return or did you get it "unsolicited". I ask because I was supposed to be submitted yesterday or today for pink but haven't gotten an e-mail like that...

I hate to be a bearer of any negative news...The embassy is closed on Nov 1st for All Saints Day. That will likely affect how those 48 hours are counted.

Hi! Usually it is 48 to 72 hours before PINK. The problem is that when you are submitted on a Thursday, the fact that they don't give PINK on Fridays falls into the equation.

Back in August, I was submitted for PINK on a Thursday and didn't get PINK until the following Wednesday. Since Nov. 1st is All Saints Day, you might not actually get PINK until Thursday.

Don't worry, it is only a matter of hours for you now!

I think you have probably hit on it exactly aimwait5. My guess would be the attorney told your agency that he would submit you on Thursday and so they told you that you were submitted - but it didn't happen. Files can be submitted for Pink Monday thru Thursday and Pink SHOULD be issued in 48 hours but again only Monday thru Thursday. And of course holidays are not included either.
