When you go through immigration for the first time with your child, do you get in the regular line and see the same officers as everyone else, or do you get in a special line?
Thanks! Finding every little thing to obsess about while waiting for PINK!!!

When we went through Atlanta after our visit trip, it looked like everyone who was bringing home babies were going through the regular US citizen lines.
We came back through Dallas on pick up and there was a special line for Immigrant Visas. We didn't see the signs, and ended up going to a "regular" line. They then sent us to the special line. It was no big deal as we were the last people off of our plane and we were the only ones there! Kim

We also went through the Immigrant line at Dallas. They checked our passports, then did our son's. It probably depends on which airport you're using.

Houston is different -- you go through a citizen line (I think and they checked me in and then we were escorted by a guard (YIPES -- no biggie) to a room where all the immigrant visa's were being processed.
They were very very polite and nice and once they realized "the baby plane had landed" they quickly processed all the adoption packets (your brown envelope that you do not open but hand to the officer). It did add about 30 minutes--that and walking through the international terminal and rechecking our luggage, diaper change, took an hour. |

We went through Miami and had to go into a special immigration room after going through the regular line.. It only took about 45-60 min total... Since this was Miami, we may have just been lucky.. ;-)

When I went through Atlanta we went through the regular US citizen line then were sent from there to a special room where the packet was turned over.
