Special Power of Attorney request? EEEK?
We just got an email from our agency requesting a new POA granting special power of attorney to someone different than the attorney we initially filed with....DOUGLAS JOSEPH LAINFIESTA FLORES...any idea why this would be needed?....the email said our attorney needed it asap for family court....ugh....its been two months since we got our referrals and STILL nothing done and now looks like it will be even longer....how depressing..and we arent even to the supposed slow part yet

Well, I don't know for sure, but the name on our POA isn't the lawyer, it is an assistant to the lawyer. So maybe they need to switch assistants or something?

Maybe your lawyer isn't also a notary? It is my understanding that in Gautemala not all lawyers are notaries and that is why there are often 2 lawyers working on 1 case. Maybe that is the new name on the POA they are requesting?

We had to do another POA while in Family Court.
Our agency told us it was because our original attorney was ill and had fallen behind in her caseload. Good Luck! I hope this new attorney works well for you.

Feb. 1, 2007 - this is really getting old!! 3rd visit trip Feb. 1-4th Feb. 21st and we still don't know what KO#2 is even for?!?!?!? Guess it wasn't a KO after all!!!!!! Feb. 22 OUT OF PGN!!!!!!!! March 26th 2007 leaving for extended pick up trip! March 29th - Happy 1st Birthday Kate!! Home forever on April 27th!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise God!!!
