These are my best guesses...please correct me if I am wrong.

Does your file sit there for a month or more before anyone even looks at it?
Your file goes into PGN and then gets assigned a reviewer. I do not know now long this takes. I do know that we entered PGN and were not assigned a reviewer for a week or two. This was when PGN was at a very slow crawl.


And then once it is reviewed, you either get a kick out or an approval? Is it that simple?

Your file can be sent to get a minor birth mother interview if you have a birthmother that is a minor.
Your file can be sent to get investigated if the reviewer questions something.
Your file can get kicked-out on the guat side (your attorney or agency may find out and tell you or not) (your attorney may not notify your agency and then you wouldn't know either)(you may find out after the fact or you can beg your agency to tell you or beg them to find out if you have been or had been ko'd for a guat side error). This may be why some stay in PGN for a while without a kickout or being let out...we don't know really for sure where the hold up can be...I guess it could be many places along the way.
Your file can be kicked out for a stateside error- your paperwork and you may be asked to fix something.
Your file can be approved and sent on to the next reviewer? then the director of PGN who may decide to kick you out.


If you get a kick out, do you go back to the end of the line when you go back in?
I was told that when I got kicked out I went back to the same reviewer. From what I hear, yes, your file is looked at in the order that it comes in.


How long does the minor thing take? What is involved
From what I understand the they need to set up a date to do the minor birthmother interview. The minor birthmother and her parents need to be able to make the appointment. There may or may not be a back up and therefore a wait to get the appointment. For us, the fostermother and the baby was asked to be at the minor birthmother interview.
