Notarizing the I-864 - How?

I just returned from the bank trying to get my I-862 notarized. The woman there told me there is no place to notarize it (since there is no notary lines on it) and refused.

Any ideas?

Janet

Our agency told us we do not have to have the I-864 notarized.
Only the Tax Affadavid and the Immunization Form.

I did a little searching. The I-864 my agency sent me has a revision date of 1/15/06. I checked the UCSIS website, and theirs is a older version. The older version has the notary wording on it, the one I have doesn't. So maybe I'll print off the old one, or not get mine notarized. I'm not sure what to do.

The Embassy website does not say anything about needing to have it notarized, but if your agency still wants you to, you could write (or type) in the notary wording in the blank space below Part 9. (I am looking at the one on the USCIS site revised 1/15/06 and there is a fair amount of space.)

We had a friend who is a notary stamp and sign the back of the form. I was really confused as well but having it done of the back worked for us. Good luck!

The form doesn't need to be notarized....unless they have changed the process. It can be signed at the Embassy during the visa interview....the visa officer is a considered a notary for things like this.
