Embassy Appointments - Confusion about Thurs. and Fridays
I just discovered the Embassy does not do appointments on Thurs. Actually I thought it was Friday though. Are you able to pick up the VISA on a Friday? The embassy will be closed for a legal holiday next Wed. Nov. 1st correct? Thank you.

Yes, as far as I understand, there are no embassy appointments on Thursdays and the embassy is closed on Wednesday, Nov 1. So, for next week, you can have your embassy appt on Tuesday and pick up your visa on Thursday - or have your embassy appt on Friday and pick up your visa on Monday (although they sometimes make exceptions and you can have your embassy appt and visa pick up on a Friday). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Good grief! I am so confused too!! We are thinking we'll have pink next week so I'm assuming now that we might end up with a Friday to Monday thing.

I know that there were some people on here that had their appt on a Thursday. A Friday appt would really stink.

I guess we may be having the same problem. We were submitted for pink yesterday, so hopefully we'll hear something tomorrow.
I think your attorney can probably help you with possibly getting the visa on the same day. Talk to your agency and find out what they can do once you know if you'll have a problem.

We had a Friday appointment and our visa wasn't ready until after 3:30 on Monday so we stayed until Tuesday.

My appointment in August was on Thursday the 17th and the pink said the Visa could be picked up on the Friday after 330..... however, the embassy may close at 12 ish.... they actually tell you and give you the receipt that the Visa can be picked up at 1130 on the friday....
I keep seeing that there are no Thursday appointments I don't know what's up with that because there were a heck of a lot of us there on a Thursday

We had a Friday Embassy appt in late July. We asked if we could pick up the Visa that day and they said yes. While we waited for the Visas (which they had completed for everyone by about 11:30) we met another agency's rep. It was her opinion that anyone with a Friday appt that asked or waited around could pick the Visa up that day.

When we were at the Embassy for PU last month our facilitator told us they had recently stopped issuing Thurs appts because they wanted to be able to say Visas would always be available "after 3:30 the next day". (Since they close at noon on Friday it was getting too confusing to have Thurs appts.)
At least that's the story we were told!
