the real story on hotel situation
Just got an email from a colleague in our Guatemala City office - there is a global banking and finance conference in Guatemala the first two weeks in November and that is why all the hotels are booked.
Hopefully we'll all be able to find a room somewhere without having to break the bank. Good luck,

Thanks for the scoop. It didn't seem possible that adoptive families could be booking all the available hotel rooms during that one two-week period of time.

The Westin has plenty of availability. I booked there tonight for the days of Oct. 28 through Nov. 1.
