Thumbs down A Fun NEW? PGN problem...

This is just something that I NOTICED. I don't have any information from anyone, this is all just speculation. This is just to see if anyone else noticed this also...

Someone that got out yesterday said that PGN man signed off 1.5 weeks BEFORE she got out. So according to my understanding, after PGN man signs off, the file must be entered into the computer to be "official". So it took whatever person enters these into the computer 1.5 weeks before it was done? What the H&%@ is that!

So here's why I care (besides the obvious), last Wednesday, according to my agency whom I trust, my lawyer was told that we are signed off on, but are waiting to be released. Now in my mind, that means that PGN man has signed and we are waiting for the computer person to enter our file. So my agency told me "anyday, definitely by Friday." Well, now it is Tuedsay, and we knew as of last night that we are still not out. PGN window person keeps telling our lawyer "come back tomorrow." I'm so bummed that as if it doesn't take PGN man long enough to sign our files, now the computer person is SLOW also?

I don't know if this is a new problem or not, maybe I'm just noticing it because now I'm in the situation, but I am just so bummed. Although I trust my agency, how do I know that they are being given the right information? Do they really KNOW that it is an out, or is it a kick out? I know that I'm not a long-timer, we've only been in for almost nine weeks total, and only 6 since our kickout, but I just can't stand this not knowing. It's driving me insane.

Thanks for letting me vent, sorry to be such a downer today.

HI Mandy,

I believe the file hits two desks on its way out. The computer desk and "print" desk.

So a couple of weeks is normal? I guess I hadn't heard that. It makes me so sad.

Mandy:

I dont know if its a new problem - but there certainly does seem to be a concerted effort to find additional steps in the process that can cause more uncertainty and delay. Still, I do hope and believe that Addy will be out soon and the pain you are experiencing this morning will melt away!

I have no idea, but how in the world do you explain someone getting out in 10 days (that is only 8 working days) if files are taking a week and a half just to get "checked out" after signature

I have been really peaceful with my wait so far, but for some reason, the news of Mr. PGN being out this week just about sent me over the edge! Then we got the news about the out in 10 days. Don't get me wrong, I am THRILLED for them and their baby is actually older than mine, so I know they had their share of waiting at the beginning of the process. What makes me mad is knowing that PGN is CAPABLE of that, yet most of us are sitting around for weeks with no action

At least in our case, our case was released the day after the director signed off on it. BUT, there was only one date on the approval, and it was the date the reviewer signed off on it, 3 months before the director got around to sign off on ours. There was no date on when the director signed off on it, we just knew when it was because our attorney watched him sign it. So, I think the 1.5 week delay you're seeing is between the reviewer and the director, not from the director to your attorney. It should only take a day or 2 at the most to actually get your file released.

YES Tricia!!!!! I think that really sums up what almost everyone thinks about that. It's not at all that you deny the family that did get out, it's just that you see that and you think, okay, so PGN CAN work that way, so why DON'T they!!!

The person who took 1.5 weeks wasn't me, that was someone else so I'm not sure which date they were seeing. I know that my lawyer was told last wed that we were just waiting to be released, and we still aren't, so it'll be a week of waiting to be released tomorrow.

And now I'm really going to feel dumb about this if we get out soon, but I am just having such a bad morning guys. I think I'm going to start drinking.

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you think they are just saying that to make you feel better?

The last 3 outs at my agency were at 4.5, 5 & 6 weeks and I know FOR SURE that there were no bribes involved. I know that 4-6 weeks isn't 10 days, but it is still pretty darn quick compared to most.

I want you guys to know that I know more people have been in longer than me and I really don't have a reason to be complaining, so I'm sorry for that. Like I said, just having a sad morning. There are a million more people who should be getting out before me.

Thanks for saying it out loud Miranda. When I showed DH the 10 day out he said "Wow, I guess nice guys really do finish last." NOT that I'm saying the family was involved, because I'm not, but something is a little suspect there. I know outs this fast used to be common, but not after March of this year.

It's never too early for a margarita. We'll just put some salsa in our eggs and it will seem like the margarita belongs there
