Help with I-600A QUICK!
Hello everyone! We are trying to get our form ready to take and file tomorrow and I am lost on some of it. First, what do you put when it asks for your intended date for departure? I have no idea right now!!! Also, when it says "will the child come to the US for adoption after compliance with the preadoption requirements, if any, of the state of proposed residence"......what does that mean? I think I'm supposed to check yes here, but I'm not sure.....on the instructions to this form, it says that if we did not personally see and observe the child prior to or during the adoption preceedings abroad, we need to submit a statement indicating our willingness and intent to readopt in the US.....does that mean I need to type something up stating that? Oh, I don't know what I'm doing and I'm really wishing I had looked at this thing before now!!! Can anyone help and explain this to me? We have our appt. tomorrow morning at 10:00....Thanks!!!

For the intended date of departure, I was told to put "unknown".
For the other question, I was told to put "no", but I don't know why. I just did as I was told  .

I just got out our "Adoption Guide Book" from our agency to answer your questions. It has samples of all the forms. We did this with both of our adoptions so I'm assuming it's correct.
 For #13 (date of departure)- we were told to put "unknown" for a., b., and for c. city = "write country only". Also for #14, "Will the child come to the US for adoption after compliance with preadoption....." we were told to check "NO". Hope this helps.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Then would I be correct assuming that on #15 I put "yes"? That's what I would think, but all of this legal jargon is so confusing to me. Thank you guys again.

Yes, for #15, check "yes". I love being able to help! I remember how I felt doing all of the paperwork...I was a nervous wreck both times!!!

I'm not trying to hijack your thread, but I did this form wrong. Our instructions didn't mention #14, so I checked "yes". Any suggestions on what I should do? I'm e-mailing my agency also.
