OT: Another laundry detergent thread...which do you use?

The other thread gave me an idea, and since I'm looking for anything and everything to keep my mind occupied these days I thought I'd ask...maybe I'll even tally the answers and see what is the most popular. See how I can turn something into nothing just to keep myself busy! Yikes.

I use Tide with bleach. I'm probably getting ripped off because it's probably no better than the others and it costs more, but I've bought into the advertising hook, line, and sinker because if I use something else I "feel" like my clothes aren't as clean.

All free for most of the family. Several of my children get eczema from Tide. For the babies I usually use Dreft. I love the smell. Oh and I am big on liquid versus powder. I tend to wash with cold or warm and the powder does not seem to dissolve as well. Anna

I used Tide for years but when I quit working and we went on a budget I switched to Era, it's about 1/2 the price of Tide. Honestly I haven't noticed much of a difference. I asked DH if he noticed a difference and he said no. Hey if I can save $8 on a large bottle, I'll take it!

I also use Tide for us and Dreft for baby (could that smell any better?). I used to use whatever was on sale, but after talking to a guy who worked for a detergent manufacturer, I switched to Tide exclusively. He said of all the formulas they made, Tide definitely had the better ingredients and cleaning agents.

So apparently I'm the cheapest of all! Kirkland Select here, powder type. I use warm/cold unless their is an item than needs cold/cold and have never had a problem. I've tried a few others on sale, but have been hard pressed to tell the difference. Also, I use the Kirkland fabric softener and that smells great.

Hi, I'm just popping over from the foster boards, and saw this thread. I use Gain. Do any of you think tide w/bleach fades any of your colors? By the way, we've been fostering two guatemalan boys for a little over two years and our adoption will be final the 23rd. Yeah!! I'll post pics as soon as it's final.

I use Tide Free for most of my clothes. For my daughter I use All Baby. I found that works much better than Dreft for taking out stains. Sometimes I will use it on my sweaters. It makes them nice and soft.

Kirkland brand here too what can I say I like Costo and their store brands have always been really great!

Besides I get a great big bucket for the cost of the much smaller box of tide from our local grocery
