Your heart must be breaking. Please know that if it does go to abandonment, you still have a chance. Please pm me if you have ANY questions about the abandonment process. I'm not an expert, but I'll try help. I am so sorry.

No matter what happens, if you want to be a parent you will be. I'm so sorry that this is happening and your faith is being tested. I hope Sabrina's birth mother does the right thing soon.

What can we do to help you? Would you consider starting another adoption and bringing home Sabrina when she comes home later? If you know in your heart that you were meant to mother, than you were meant to be a Mother. I have been right in your shoes, please don't give up unless you want to give up. It sounds like your agency will work with you (offering another referral) so perhaps they will work on reduced fees or apply Sabrina's fees to her brother or sister until you bring her home, and we can help you figure that out (financially) when the time comes. Trust your heart, no matter how much it hurts. Reach inside Laura and let's help you find out exactly what you need to do to reach this place in your life.
I will find out anything I can to help you with this. Arm yourself with information! We all work with different people who have had different experiences with abandonment? Tell me what I can ask for you, and I will.

Oh Laura, My prayers and heart are with you. But DON'T let go of your dream to be a mother. Consider pursuing the abandonment. Especially since you are happy with her foster placement. What about accepting another referral as well? You ARE a mother, you're Sabrina's mother. My heart does go to you and your husband and to Sabrina. I totally empathize with what you are experiencing! Our birth mother passed away this summer. We are in our early 40's, Carlitos' is our first child (whom we've visited three times), and our news came two days before his first birthday. I completely feel your loss and despair! We waited out an abandonment for Carmen...don't give up! I might recommend that you accept another referral, still wiat it out for the abandonment and end up with 2 beautiful daughters!!! PM if you want any information. We waited 14 months for Carmen...it was hard, but she has been 1 year and so worth it. Cherie
