Enjoy your time before they start kindergarten

My son (bio) has started kindergarten this year and I am feeling really sad at the lost of freedom we had before starting school(private & christian).

I have decided not to let the time fly by with our daughter who is 2 and we brought her home December 2004. They do grow up so fast! I plan to relish every minute I have with her before she starts!

Just sharing...

Payne

I know that this will cause some disturbance - it usually does. But, I would say that if you can do it - then homeschool your children. It is a wonderful way to keep your family time and a wonderful experience to watch them learn. People think they cannot do it - but really, you do it with homework every night. We homeschool (we have three children: 7, 5, and 2 and are adopting our fourth) and I really couldn't imagine doing anything else. Anyway - just a thought. If you want more info, please feel free to ask!

Homeschooling

After trying for four years to get pregnant and then having complications I just could not face putting my beautiful daughter on a cold yellow school bus to go visit an unknown person in a room full of strangers ! I decided to homeschool when my oldest was 6 months and I love it ! My girls are 18 (graduated) and 15 and I have always homeschooled !

I felt that loss of freedom with the start of elementary school last year.
Preschool wasn't so bad. A few hours to myself a couple days a week.
We are lucky, in my opinion, that we have a non-traditional school year. We are on Fall Break right now. We have 13 days off counting the weekends.
It probably would not be so great if I worked and had to find childcare.
Yes, enjoy the time with them while you can.
They really do grow up so fast.

Thank ya'll for sharing. I think homeschooling is a wonderful option. I have a B.A. and two Master degrees in Education, and I admire those of you who are successful at it because I don't think I would be any good!! Fortunately, I have him enrolled in a private/christian school who encourages parents to come in as often as they like and they encourage days off for "family" events.

Thanks for all who responded!!

Payne
