Immigration in Houston

I am looking at flights for my pickup trip (YEA!!!!).

I would like to get home at a decent hour.

Has anyone immigrated through Houston?

Do you think I can make it throught Immigration and Customs and make a connecting flight in 90 minutes?

Any suggestions would be helpful

we went through houston a month ago - we had just about two hours and that was plenty of time to actually sit when we got to the connecting gate. We had to wait in line at the Continental counter there because the computer in Guat was down so Continental had to re-issue boarding passes in Houston. That added about 20 minutes to our between flight things to do. It was also during the week of 9/11 when security was really tight. hope that helps. pm me if you need more specifics.

We went through Houston with our daughter in about 45 minutes tops. So, yes, you should make it!

I haven't been through immigration here yet, so I can't offer any advice - except I live here, so I do know that we have TWO big, main (separate) airports here in Houston and I imagine the amount of time for immigration varies between the two airports. We have IAH-George Bush Intercontinental Intercontinental and HOU- Houston Hobby Airport.

Just wanted to point that out so you can be sure you're getting information about immigration at the airport you are flying into. (IAH seems to have more international flights and is probably a little busier than HOU.)

I have been through immigration in Houston twice and each time it was under 20 minutes. The real time crunch issue was the distance between connections -- especially lugging a baby and luggage.

Hobby does only do domestic flights and I believe serves only Southwest and other express flights like Continental Express or something like that.

I have been in Immigration twice this year in Houston (we live here as well) and both times have been an absolute breeze. It's a huge airport, but both times there was only our flight and maybe one other. 90 minutes should be pretty good! You'll want to make sure your connecting flight is in the same terminal otherwise you might need some more time.

There are some people who recently had problems with IR3 visas going through Houston. I remember reading a thread on it on this board. Something about them not recoginizing the IR3 as citizenship.

Maybe someone who had this happen to them could elaborate. I don't want to scare anyone in case I don't have my facts straight.
