Question Which would you suggest? The bouncer or jumperoo?

Our little guy will be close to 1 year old when we get him and I'm torn between the bouncer and the jumperoo - I have a feeling the jumperoo won't hold him long, but I could be wrong...the description on the website where you can buy the jumperoo doesn't post a weight limit and Fisher Price just brought out this bouncer and it's SO cute!

Thing is, my sisters bought the jumperoo, but I don't think he'll be able to use it long...what would you do - would you exchange the jumperoo for a bouncer?

The zebra is the bouncer...

I just found a site that lists the weight limit for the jumperoo - it's 25 pounds...I'm kind of dumb when it comes to children and weight...how old would this be? If he's 9 months old and 17 pounds does that mean he can use it for about a year???

I think it depends on the child. I know some who LOVE it and some who won't sit in it! We have one and all of our kids enjoy it. Last year, we brought our first daughter home at 8 months old. She had some surgeries so was a little behind developmentally (today, she is caught up and doing awesome) so the jumparoo helped build her leg muscles! It was great and she LOVED it!

Our twins are 6 months old and they both love it too. They are just now at the age where they are starting to use their legs to stand (not on their own) so again, it's great for building their leg strength/muscles.

However, I haven't seen the Fisher-Price bouncer. That looks way cool! I think the decision would be whatever he's doing developmentally and which one would better help him.?? That's just my opinion though. Either one would probably be great!

my son is 15 months old and has outgrown the jumperoo (more for height than weight) but he adored it! I think each of those are very different toys so if you can swing it... get both

Well, my son walked at 10 months. Once he realized he could walk, he did not go in something like that as often. What truly helped us was that gated area...it is like a little circle jail. We would attach toys to that...we put the leapfrog table in there and whatever he liked at the time if we had to leave the room. The exercauser was awesome when he used it, however!

I would definetley trade in the jumperoo for the bouncer. At 1 year old I don't think he would want to stay in there for very long.

I'm no expert by any stretch, but I'd probably trade for the bouncer for the age he'll be. I don't think you'd get a ton of use out of the jumperoo.

Our son came home at 7 months and loved the Jumperoo for quite a few months. Now that he is mobile he doesn't use it anymore. He got a Radio Flyer Classic Rock & Bounce Pony for his 1st bday and loves to play on it! It seems like something that he will use for a long time. It also doesn't take up as much room as the Jumperoo.

I would get the bouncer..

Both are kids are over 18lbs and they are 7 and 8 months old....

I don't think he would want the jumperoo for very long, especially if he's already or will be walking soon.

Good Luck!

I would go for the bouncer too. My son just turned 1 and is 24 lbs and though I didn't have a Jumperoo I had an exersaucer that he hated once he was crawling. A commercial for the bouncer came on tv last night and I thought it looked cool!

My little guy was 18 lbs at 6 months, and is 24 now at 11 months. I definitely think that your jumperoo (fun as they are) won't last long enough. The bouncer seems pretty cool...as does the rocking horse. Hopefully Noah will get one of these for his first birthday!!!

We have both. Bryce is 15 months and quit using her jumperoo months ago.. The zebra bouncer sits in our family room, and she rarely gets on it either! All kids are different.. Maybe when he gets home you can take him to Toys R Us and see what he likes there before purchasing..

LAUGHING..... Wouldn't you know it!! As I'm typing that Bryce never gets on the zebra, she walks over and sits on it!! She's turning in it now, watching Dora... Well, I guess my vote goes to the bouncer! She likes turning it better than bouncing...

That bouncer is VERY fun looking!

My son is on the upper average for his age - he weighed 25 pounds at 10 months......

I would have gotten a jumper, but was afraid my dogs would have a problem with it...

I hat to tell you but it depends on the child. For their shower we were given the jumpero and one child loves it! The instructions we received with it said 26 lb. She is 22 lb and is 13 months. she walks but still loves the jumperoo. The other baby likes the saucer. She does not love it but preffers it over the jumperoo. I think I would buy the jumperoo if I had but one to chose from. I do make sure they are in those toys for 20 minutes or less and I will not put them from one toy to the other as they are similar. I think once they walk they might not want to go in the excersaucer while they will in the jumperoo. I think the excersaucer does have a higher weight limit. Anna

so many people where I work insisted I get the Jumperoo, saying their kids loved it. My daughter does not at all care for it. I thought once she figured out it bounced she would love it, but after 5 minutes she wants out. I have never seen the bouncer you have in the picture, it looks like fun.
