I feel like CRAP that I started the post this a.m. regarding the whole executive order thing - I have an attorney associated with the ADA so we kept getting these frantic emails one after another today. I know people were PO'd that I was "rumor-mongering". I've worked in politics my whole adult life before I became a lawyer. I've been on the "inventing" side of smoke and mirrors more times than I care to count and I was so scared that all of us parents were going to be sent down the river for someone's political agenda. I should have waited to see how things were panning out before I posted, though. I know better - I'm so so so sorry. I've literally been vomiting today (like alot of you) from worrying about this - my baby should be getting out of PGN soon, but b/c of some very bad mistakes on the Guatemlana side we're basically just getting starting over on our case. I've never felt this scared and helpless about anything in my entire life and instead of trusting in my faith, I just started posting everything I heard from my attorney. Please forgive me for causing ANY of you one minute of worry. We are going to get our babies home. (((HUGS)))))

You know what, Stephanie, we all know what comes from being involved in a forum such as this. You did nothing wrong and should stop beating yourself up. We are all sick at the possibility of losing our "adoptions". YOU did nothing wrong!!! That just happens!! You passed on what you knew to be correct at THAT moment!!!! Thank you for your apology, but it is truly not needed.............well at least from this forum member. We are all in it together!!!!!!

I don't think you did anything wrong, to be honest with you. If it wasn't you, it would have been someone else. I say that because the majority of us DID receive emails from our agencies telling us this info.. How were we to know?

You didn't do anything wrong! If you hadn't posted it, someone else would have. I logged on here because I got an email from another adoptive parent who had heard about it from her agency. Everyone was going to go nuts today regardless of who posted first.

Thank you for telling us what was going on. We all need any information we can get!

I agree with the rest of the posts...if it hadn't been you, it would have been someone else. I got an email from someone (adopting from Guatemala) last night that isn't even on ANY online forums and he had received several emails from his agency and was freaking out.

No worries! We are glad that you shared the information. We are all in this together...together for the good, the bad, and the very ugly waiting!

You did nothing wrong - we all check various sites and someone else would have posted it.

Adoption (at least for me) has brought out a "frantic" side, I believe it is due to the uncertainity of the whole situation. Let's face it, we fall deeply in love with the photo updates and during the visit trips....these are our children we are fighting for! I appreciate you posting Chris L's phone number at the DOS. If nothing else, our phone calls proved we are involved citizens who are concerned about the children in Guatemala. The reality is the squeaky wheel get the oil and I can already tell from the discussions on this site we are one loud, squeaky wheel!

Please don't feel that you need to be sorry. We all appreciate any information anyone has. I think most of us would rather be kept in the loop than to not know what is going on. Most of us also received e-mails from our agencies however I myself put even more faith in what members of the ADA state.

1. Because we all share what we hear, good or bad
2. Reality Check - we all read to realize things like this can happen
3. We are all here for each other.
4. Some people wouldn't of even know, because the lack of communication with their Agency.

It truly wasn't a problem. I think most of us were also hearing the same things from our agencies so it wasn't just you. Hang in there ok? This is one rough ride but we'll make it!

I repeat what others have said - you did absolutely nothing wrong and you should not feel the least bit sorry or guilty about anything. With the frantic e-mails that you were getting from your attorney (no comment about that), I probably would have done the same thing. We are all in this together - and we all ache for more information and want to share what little we have. I also thank you for caring about us all (as evidenced by your message).

Please don't feel badly about this...you didn't post what your attorney told you about in order to hurt us and we know that - plus, like everyone is saying, we would have heard about it eventually anyway.
