stuck in the paperchase
I am a very efficient person who first signed on with my agency at the end of June---it's been 3 months and I'm still not done with the paper chase. The last thing I needed was my home study...finally got it today...and the notary's certification expires in 8 months which is unacceptable to my agency.
 Plus, I'm in Georgia so I need state and county certifications and the Atlanta USCIS is taking about 3 months to process I600A forms. It will likely be a total 6-7 months for me to be totally paper ready.(Thanks for letting me vent---I feel better now---and no one else understands.)

Jody I am so sorry {{{{hugs}}}} I am hoping that you get your 171H quickly. We got ours much more quickly than their "average", so I'm hoping yours is the same way! I know how frustrating it is here in the paper chase and I know how it feels to just want OUT of it.

Well I'm right there with you. Look at my timeline so far...we're still stuck in the paperchase as well.

Dossier received by our agency  11/20/06 - Dossier sent to Guatemala 11/27/06 - Referral of baby girl (d.o.b. 11/20/06)  12/12/06 - Received I171-H  12/13/06 - Power of Attorney arrived in Guatemala 01/30/07 - Received DNA Authorization  02/16/07 - 02/21/07 - Visit Trip 02/23/07 - It's a match 99.99%!!!!!! 04/13/07 - I-72 04/16/07 - Resubmitted 04/24/07 - PA!  05/08/07 - Enter PGN!!  07/06/07 - OUT!!!! 07/23/07 - Submitted for Pink!  07/25/07 - I-72 07/30/07 - Resubmitted 08/07/07 - PINK!! 08/17/07 - Embassy appt. 08/21/07 - HOME!

I hope things go quickly for you. Like Kelly, we got our 171 much earlier than the timeframe that was stated on the gov website for our area. I hope this is true for you as well!!
