Just curious...innie or outie?

My little girl has an outie belly button. Just wondering if that's common with our Guatlings or if it's a little more rare like here in the U.S. What do your little kiddos have?

Ok, I may have answered my own question. I looked on a website that said 20% of all newborns are born with an outie but they usually go away between 12-18 months. Interesting. My daughter still has hers and she's almost two. Hmmm, I never knew.

Interesting. My daughter has an outie -- the only one in our family! I was just wondering the other day if outies are permanent...I guess I'll find out in about in 6 more months!

Outie...

My little guy has an "outie". He had surgery at 12 weeks for a large umbilical hernia, so I'm assuming his "outie" will be permanent. Never thought about it, really.

Take care.

My son has an outie but he has an umbilical hernia. It should be resolved by the time he's 4.

My 4.5 year old has a major outie...has since she came home. My pediatrician told me we could do plastic surgery to make it smaller if we wanted (belly-button-ectemy is guess). I said 'no way'...at least now she has something fantastic to hand her belly button rings from when she is older!

My DD is kind of in between. I think it is more of an outie, but others say it's an innie.

My son (2 years old) and my daughter (1 years old) both adopted from Guatemala both have outies. I actually wondered the same thing---if this was common in Guatemala. Apparently it is!

My Luke is 3/4 in and 1/4 out. It's different - no hernias, just the way it's made.

Our daughter has an innie. I, on the other hand, have an "outie" and always have, so it's not just a Guatemala thing.
