?'s going for pick up soon
Okay, I know that there have been many threads about all of this, but I am beginning to find myself stressed and worrying over the thing I may forget to bring on the pick up trip. So I was wondering if you wonderful people could help me out and look over the fact that you have probably said all of this many of times?
We are staying at the Marriott. Do they have a hair dryer in the bathrooms? Or do I need to bring my own. How many bottles did you bring? What about formula? How many diapers did you bring? How many outfits for the baby do I need to bring? What kinds of toys will she play with (she is 19 weeks old right now)? What about for us - how many outfits, can you wash clothes, what kinds of medicine? Also, which type of room is the best to stay in while at the Marriott? We were thinking of the Con. Floor. Is it worth the extra $? Gosh, I know I have tons of questions - just can't think if it right now. But if you can help me with these - I would greatly appreciate it! ![]()

First, don't stress! (Ok, impossible, but try!) Aside from MAYBE perscription meds (and probably even then) there is nothing you can't get in Guatemala City if you forget it.
Yes, they do have hair dryers, though typical hotel ones that aren't very powerful, so if you have long or think hair you MAY want your own. I brought 2 bottles plus the one the foster mother left with us, but my daughter was a lot older. It really depends on how often you want to wash them and how many you want to deal with taking up space in your luggage. I always bought formula there as both my kids were on NAN. I brought a dozen or so diapers and bought them there also. They just take up so much room in the suitcase. (Don't forget baggies of some kind for stinky ones.) I would plan on 2 outfits a day for baby. Some days you will need 2, some days you won't. (And some days you will need 3!) I always packed an outfit a day for myself, with a couple extra shirts in case of spitup. You can wash things yourself or have things laundered, but the laundry service is kind of expensive. (We had to have a couple outfits cleaned after an explosive diaper. I cleaned them the best I could then sent then to be laundered so they didn't get stained.) I would take some of any basic meds you think you might need, though you can get things there. Tylenol, Pepto, Tums, and infant Motrin are in my bag no matter where we go. We always stayed in just a regular room. Do a search for Packing List and Coachmom's user name and she has an excellent packing list. Happy travels!!!!
