Moving during adoption process
I have our I600A ready to mail out. I will contact an agency on Monday to sign up. We still need to do the homestudy. My question is this. Will we have to do a homestudy update if we move during our wait? What else could happen if we did decide to make a move? Please throw all the possiblities at me.

I am not sure. I think a lot would depend on if it is a move out of state or not and whether you were in PGN or not. I would talk to your social worker for your homestudy or your agency and they can probably help you out.

I was told we'd have to update our homestudy and re-do some doc's with the new address. We decided to wait rather than go through the hassle and possibly slow things down.

We moved out of state during one adoption. It best to wait if you end up doing that because your homestudy will need to be redone/updated and you will need to have your I600A transfered. Can you wait until ater your move? Anna

Oh mving was not an issue with this last adoption but our social worker told us if we would move and she knew she would have to do a new updated homestudy. Anna
