Heart thought for today-Sept 11

VERSE:
I lift up my eyes to the hills -- where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
-- Psalm 121:1-2

THOUGHT:
In a world of startling beauty and a universe of dazzling diversity, our hearts are to be drawn back to the One who made it and now sustains it. He knows us and will help us if we will but believe what he has tried so many ways to say: "I love you as my child and I deeply care what happens to you and those you love."

PRAYER:
Almighty Creator, Majestic Architect and Eternal Engineer, it absolutely bewilders and delights me to know that You care for me.
With all the things of such vast importance, I find Your desire to know and love me humbling and assuring. Today I will worship, work, and witness, aware of Your presence and care.
Thank You, dear Father, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Daily Heartlight

Dear Lord, Today I remember those families of victims from 9-11. I pray that You will comfort those who lost loved ones.Thank You for all the dedicated firemen policemen and civilians who gave their lives trying to rescue those, and also for all those who survived.
I pray a special blessing on all those families today.
In Jesus Name Amen.

Goodness lives
Life's most difficult moments teach us that we're stronger than we know. It always pays to remember that.
When the worst happens, is when we have the opportunity to be our best. When the challenges seem unbearable and hope is a distant memory, a new and stronger hope is already taking root.
Though events can terribly injure us and pull us a long way down, nothing can rob us of the ability and desire to connect with life's goodness. And so that goodness always, in its own way, prevails, despite the unimaginable odds against it.
For that goodness lives in our hearts, where we can always keep it alive. And because we know how it feels so completely right, that is what we do.
In the everyday moments, goodness lives. In the most joyful times and during the darkest days, it becomes more deeply entrenched and more personally meaningful.
We pause to remember all that has gone before, and look ahead to the many possibilities that are now springing to life. Through it all, underneath it all, we carry an abiding goodness that we cannot be without.
-- Ralph Marston

It would be great if we could have everyone also post on a special thread we set up for Remembering 9/11.

Please check it out and let's show our support as an adoption community....

Thanks!

Beautiful post in remembrance of 9/11. I wrote a Christian blog regarding our spiritual terrorist called Our Own Terrorist Aboard.

God using the inconveniences in our lives...
Stories from 9-11

The 'L I TT L E' Things.
As you might know, the head of a company survived
9/11 because his son startedkindergarten.

Another fellow was alive because it was
His turn to bringdonuts.

One woman was late because her
Alarm clock didn't go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike
Because of an auto accident.

One of them
Missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take
Time to change.

One's
Car wouldn't start.

One went back to
Answer the telephone.

One had a child that dawdled
And didn't get ready as soon as he should have.

One couldn't

Get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man
Who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,
Took the various means to get to work
But before he got there, he developed
a blister on his foot.

He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.

That is why he is alive today.

Now when I am
Stuck in traffic
,
Miss an elevator,
Turn back to answer a ringing telephone
...
All the little things that annoy me.
I think to myself,
This is exactly where
God wants me to beat this very moment...

Next time your morning seems to be

Going wrong
,

The children are slow getting dressed,

You can't seem to find the car keys,

You hit every traffic light,
Don't get mad or frustrated;

God is at work watching over you.

May God continue to bless you
With all those annoying little things
And may you remember their possible purpose.

Doretta
