Gold Seal Letter

I have a question: I completed my daughter's adoption in March, 2005 and the gold seal letter (police clearance was dated June 2005). I am putting together my paperwork for a second adoption (should be complete this month). Can I use this same letter? (I had requested 2 copies previously) Or do I have to apply for a new/updated one? My agency did not need updated state/FBI prints for my updated homestudy -- but I'm not sure what the requirement is for the international dossier. Does anyone know?

Thanks!
-Paz

Adopting our 3rd

Hi Paz,

First welcome!

For Guatemala - not sure about your agency but here are the country requirements in regards to your question.

Fingerprints no matter what country are only good for 18 months from the date you were printed.

You will need them up to date for PGN and US Visa - Embassay appointment at the end.

You will need a home study that shows only Guatemala.

Criminal Clearance for your state are only valid for International Adoption for a year. So yes you will need a new original showing no record for your dossier.

There are many threads and one just started the other day on the entire process. GOOD LUCK!
