Lullabye CD Recommendations

I'd like to buy a couple of CDs of lullabyes or soothing music to play for my son when I lie him down. Does anyone have any recommendations of good CDs that their children like or that you have listened to and think your child will like? I am thinking of either nice light classical music or traditional lullabyes. I know Baby Einstein makes several CDs and so does Fisher Price but am unsure which ones might be nice. Thanks for any recommendations.

There is a lot to choose from. My favorite calming music is by Jum Brickman. He plays the piano and he is fantastic. He has several CD's to choose from. Here are some title of the CD's: Love Songs & Lullabys, Destiny, Picture This, No Words. There is also one by Kenny Loggins Return to Pooh Corner. Hope this helps!!

Personally, I just play the classical radio station for my son. He loves it! I am lucky that we have a very good local station with hardly any commericals at night.

But I also have this CD: "Mozart for Mothers-To-Be: Tender Lullabies for Mother and Child" (there are a lot of them out there, this is the exact title from amazon so you can do a search). It is basically exerpts from classical songs without any loud or sudden noises that may startle a baby. It is a pretty nice CD.

Another one I have is Baby's Bedtime by Judy Collins. That one is pretty nice too. You can hear song snippets from this one at amazon as well.

My son loved the Baby Mozart CD in the Baby Einstein series -- actually still asks for it on occassion at bedtime and he's 3 1/2 now.

ALso, a lot of babies and toddlers seem to really like piano music; DH is a pianist and all our friends say his CD is one of their kids' favorites -- and it's not a lullaby CD.

We just had our first visit trip last week (awesome!) and we took a couple of things, including Latin Lullabies which I bought online. We have English language music too, but want to incorporate Spanish too. It's nice -- enjoy your trip!

Putamayo Dreamland

Martha Stewart Baby: Sleeptime

Hope that helps.

Someone gave us Sound Asleep in Jesus-- it's nice, soothing music, done, I think (though I'm not at home to double check) by Michael Card. We keep everything off at night but she LOVES music so we play this when her mommy needs something a bit quieter than the Stan Boreson Klubhouse music that she'd really prefer!

And now she's taken to playing that xylophone I got for her when the music is on -- I think she's playing along!!

Cd

I don't have a child yet, but I do have a favorite lullaby CD that I love and always give to new parents. It's called "On a Starry Night," put out by Windham Hill. It has lullabies from various artists from various parts of the world. It's wonderful.

Talking latin lullaby

Latin Lullaby is fantastic!!! I cry when I listen to it. It's very moving. I got it before my daughter came and I would listen to it, and now she is two and she still goes to bed with it at night. I've learned quite a few of the songs. I'm so proud I can sing in Spanish. It's one way to keep her language/music in her life. I'm a music buff and enjoy this cd immensley.
Just a thought...

Lullabies that PARENTS can enjoy too

I found both of Kenny Loggins' lullaby CD's enjoyable to listen to- House at Pooh Corner and Return to Pooh Corner were relaxing for me and for the baby...

Enjoy!
