Question about the Marriott and we have PINK!!!!!!!!!!

We got our pink slip finally. We were submitted on Aug 24 and our Embassy appt is on 9/11. Not sure what day our pink came out for sure though. I have a question about the difference between the deluxe room and the standard room at the Marriott. We have always stayed in the deluxe room, but we are considering staying in a standard room so that we can use our free points on the room. They wont let us use the Marriott rewards points on the deluxe room. What is the difference? Have any of you stayed in both rooms and can tell me the difference? I know that the deluxe rooms are in the newer tower and are newer rooms. I have read that the carpets are really old and dirty in the standard rooms and I am just wondering if that is true and if so how bad it really is? I have a lot of allergies and asthma so I am worried about if the carpet is really dusty and old if this will give me an allergy/asthma attack. Is there anything else that is different about the two rooms? Do the standard rooms have their own refrigerator like the deluxe ones do?

Thanks a bunch in advance for the info. We will be at the Marriott on Sept 10-13.

Vicki

standard room is great

I don't know about the deluxe room but we stayed in a standard room on the 3rd floor and had access to the baby lounge on the 3rd floor which has a microwave, toys, computer, sink, small refrigerator, etc. I thought our room was very, very nice. It did not seem old at all to me and as far as I could tell, the carpets were perfectly clean. All those rooms have a nice little balcony also. We were very pleased and will request the same type of room for our next trip.

We stayed in both. Standard rooms on 2 long weekend visit trips and then the deluxe on 6 day pick up trip. What I noticed was that the carpets were definitely cleaner in the deluxe, but I really had not minded the other. The biggest difference to me was that the deluxe room had a lot more room in the bathroom and that was really nice. Much more counter space for drying bottles and making formula etc. Easier to bathe her in the tub too as it was not so confining.

Congrats and have a great trip!

Monica

What about a refrigerator? Was there one in the standard room? If the room is smaller I am thinking we should stay in the deluxe since my mother in law is coming with us. We would book the suite, but those stairs scare me.

Thanks,
Vicki

Hi Vicki - we stayed in the Standard room during our visit trip, and yes it had a frige. I also thought the Standard room was just fine. We spent most of our time at La Vista and the pool anyway

But you may want the extra room with MIL in tow. Congratulations on PINK, and have a great pick-up trip

Well let me tell you all about it since I am sitting in one right now. I think it is a great room and you can't beat the price. The carpets in our room are not at all dirty and the room is very clean and nice. The balcony is also nice so that you can get out and get fresh air anytime. It is a tad tight but we are fine and we are three rooms down from the baby room which is AWESOME. They have everything and anything that you would need down there and it is sooo nice to be able to go down there. We are very, ver pleased. And yes, there is a fridge.
Hugs
