I suppose you could go with Alie or Allee or Aleigh...just to make things even more complicated! My least favorite is Ali for the reason for the boxer reason. I also think it looks less "finished" that way.

As the mother of an Alexandra, I thought I'd chime in and say our daughter's nickname is Alie (as suggested by one poster). I didn't like Alex, as to me that is a boy's name. Alexi or Alexis were too "prissy" for me. My father in law's wife suggested Alie, and that's what it's been ever since!

Only one L, since there is only one L in Alexandra. Nobody spells it right, but my mom says that's because WE'RE the ones who spell it wrong!

I think I'm leaning towards Allie. That was my first choice and my husband's - before I realized there were so many choices!

For some strange reason, it helps when other people type the name. It just looks different when other people type or write it. Ok, maybe I'm crazy.

My vote is for ALI!!! It is my best friend Alisons nickname. My daughters name is Elaina and I am trying to figure out how to spell her nickname: Lainey, Lani, oh well it will come to me eventually. Good Luck!!

I like Ali-- if they know she's a girl the boxer thing won't be an issue. And get this, my SIL decided on the spelling of my niece's name "Abbi Jane" based on how it would "look" in her scrapbooking. She's into naming them what they will call them (nephew is "Jamie") so I guess it's okay. I just rest in the fact that he can go with J. (middle, last) if he ever becomes a supreme court judge!!

We are going to change our little girls name from Yuliana to Alejandra Yuliana and we call her Aly. I was spelling it Alley and than my grandmothers family came for a visit and thought it was sweet that we were naming our little girl after grandma (Alice, who pastaway 11 yrs ago). We were confused and she had reminded my mother that grandma's family use to call her Aly. So we changed the spelling to Aly.

At one point we were thinking of spelling it Alee. My DH middle name is Lee, but we have a friend who name her little girl Ashlee and her daddy's name is Lee. So we decided not to do that.
Did you ever think it was going to be so hard to come up with the spelling of a nickname? I would of never guessed. Good Luck. Let us know what you decide.
