I have 2 - Evan turned 4 in May and Mia is 14 months old....so they are about 3 years apart. I am glad I have two, however, I truly wish someone had warned me!!!! Going from one to two, for me, was extremely hard!! No way was it easier! My son took the addition of a sibling VERY hard. It all depends on the child. He acts out, regressed with potty training, and absolutely felt he was the center of our world until Mia came. I so wish we had spaced them apart MUCH closer. By waiting 3 years, I feel it was much harder. An oh boy! Just wait until your little one starts playing the the older one's toys - she she gets mobile!! I spend my day refereeing the two of them, and Mia is only 14 months old!!! Evan was a great "sharer" and still is, with friends and other family members. Never any issues. But with Mia? Forget it. It's awful!!! I wish someone had warned me a bit before having two. I felt that going from one to two (after having one for over 3 years)....was harder than going from NONE to one. A friend once told me.....(after Mia came home
...that going from one to two isn't twice as hard, it is exponential!! I just wanted to share the other side of the coin. That said, seeing them grow up together is wonderful. I am so glad he will have a little sister and she will have a big brother. I just think it depends on the older child, how things will go. My son was a sweet, loving child with wonderful manners, and everything changed!! There are days I am pulling my HAIR out. So just be prepared. It is alot harder but worth it. Honest opinion!!
