Question Mexico Adoption

Has anyone adopted or known anyone who tried or did adopt from Mexico. If you do please tell me your experience and PM me the agency. I really need to know.

Someone who used my agency from Guatemala had an adopted daughter from Mexico. They were living there at the time and I believe it was a very difficult process. It was lengthy, almost two years if I recall, and unpredictable. She used to post here, but I'm not sure if she does anymore. If you really would like more info, I can try to track her down. PM me.

Good luck,

We've adopted twice from Mexico. It's an extremely difficult process - it makes Guatemala look like a cake walk. (We have two Mexican-born daughters and two Guatemalan-born sons so I can make the comparison) I'd rather go through a difficult Guatemalan adoption anyday rather than adopt from Mexico again, sadly.

Well, my 2 oldest hale from Mexico....but I adopted them in the US. SO naturally we looked into international adoptions from MExico....but the requirements are killer. Did you know that you will end up spending a minimum total of SIX WEEKS living in Mexico. Not many normal people with jobs and families can be gone that long...which is why it did not work for us. But I would do it in a heartbeat if I did not work and I did not have 3 other children I had to care for here.

Mexico

From the posts I don't have much to add except when I looked into adopting from Mexico, an acquaintance who actually volunteers at a Mexican orphanage told me Mexico does not like their children adopted out of the country. It's obviously based on the posts, but there seem to be other Central American countries opening up now so it might be worthwhile to look elsewhere if you don't want to go through another Guatemalan adoption.
