Adoption in Belize? Alternative to Guat?
Has anyone been hearing about an alternative to Guatemala, adoption in Belize? I saw an invite to join a new yahoo group about it. You can PM me since i Know we are not allowed to talk about anything agency-wise.

A while back I joined that group. There doesn't seem to be much happening. Only 14 Visa were issed from Belize last year, as compared to Guatemala's 3500+. There seems to be only one agency saying they can handle adoptions there for you, but I haven't heard of baby's coming home yet.

My understanding is that you do not need to use and agency, but go directly through the government of Belize. If you do a search for Belize Adoptions State Department, you can get some really good information on the process and requirements. It has also come up recently on the Adoption Agency Research Yahoo Group, including a post today about the one agency currently promoting Belize.
