I also think they have at least some sort of recognition. I could see it when we went for pick up trips with our kids!

I know the wait is hard, but at least you now know that your daughter is in good care and hopefully that gives you some peace! You will have her in your arms soon!

I visited three times before pickup. Madi always had no problems adapting to me. But on my 6th month visit ( I had visited when she was 2 months and 4 months) she gave me a huge smile and held out her arms to me. We also gave her a book with her brothers pictures and names so the foster mother and kids could show it to her. She was a bit wide eyed with the plane ride and all the people at the airport but my Mom says that when she was coming down the escalator towards her and her brothers, her big eyed wonderment turned to a huge smile when she saw her brothers. She went right to them and has been very comfortable with them from the first moment. I believe on some level she will remember the love and nurturing you gave her and will know you from that. I hope she is in your arms forever very soon. I remember well those empty arms. Sherie

Not really from the visit but I think the pictures in the baby photo album helped. I know one foster mother showed the little album to the baby all the time. I did recognize their personallities eventhough they were 4 months older then when we visited. I thought that was pretty neat! Anna
