Question Question re: Milk for 13 month old

Help, please! We are leaving to pick up our son on Wednesday. We are taking some cereal and it says to mix with milk. Shoud I assume that the milk might make him poopy since he hasn't had it? Should I use his formula instead to mix with the cereal?

Yes, I'd use formula instead...

I guess I would ask the foster mom what she is doing. You surely don't want to change something on the pu trip and then have to change those diapers on the plane!

Probably could mix with his formula, he is at the age where he can start drinking milk.

I would see what his Foster Mom's been doing.

We are going to be in a similar situation!

Alex is almost 12 months and hoping to get him very soon!! When we were visiting (he was 9 months) and the foster mom instructed us to mix cereal with his formula - every bottle. No wonder he is so heavy.
Will have to wait and see if she is still doing this.

Good Luck!!

Have a Great Trip

Joy

We mixed cereal w/ formula in the beginning (or nursery water, if nothing else was available) and always fed from spoon, NEVER from the bottle.

Also have mixed with very diluted fruit juice, IF he's had that.

Hi there! Chances are very high that your baby is already on powdered milk (a powder that you mix with water). Anna was at 11 1/2 months. We took down some bottled water and some travel formula packets. We never needed the formula packets as we just used the bottled water mixed with the powdered milk they left us. When we got home, we slowly transitioned her to whole milk and she had no problems adjusting.

I would be leary of changing his diet while on the pick up trip. If indeed he does eat ceral you can always get it down there. That way if he is not eating it then you didnt waste space carrying it. I will also be picking up my son (hopefully soon!) that will be 12-13 months...I plan on keeping his diet as similar as possible till we get home and then slowly trying to change it from there. I have been on a plane with a 14th month with explosive dipers...(last visit) I do NOT, EVER want to go through that again!
JMHO,
Have a great pick up!
