Of course our baby's name is Addyson. Just the name that my hubby and I could agree on. I didn't like it as much as some others, but now it really fits her.

She has two middle names now: Lucia after her foster mom who is great, and May after the middle name of my grandmother who is also going to be her godmother. (unorthodox, I know)

We didn't keep any part of her birth name because her birthname is Madelyn Ann and that is the name of my friend's daughter. I definitely wanted to use May, so Ann sounded a little goofy (May+Ann looks a little like Mayan - didn't want people to think I was being inappropriate) So it got changed. Plus, her name was so "American" that I wanted something a little more from her home culture in her name...hence Lucia.

We completely changed the name! My DH is British so we went with a British full name, spelled the British way. For #2 (no referral yet) we will also be changing her name to be European except we will have a Spanish Euro name.

First and only child: His given name was Donovan. We added Gage and kept Donovan as the middle name, so he's Gage Donovan G.

I clicked that I had completely changed his name but that is not altogether correct. At 19 days old he had not been given a name and I was told I could give him his name (of course they spelt his first name wrong on his original birth certificate so all through the adoption process I have been having to mispell his name!). I was adopting either girl or boy so I had chosen the name Hayden and then gave him my father's name as his middle name -Thomas. Hayden Thomas.

Our 1st referral -
Her name was already Sara. She had no middle name.
The name we had picked out for her was Ava Lynn.
But when I found our Sara meant princess well I just had to keep it! Plus all my other children have biblical names and I did not have one picked for her.
So now she is Sara Ava Lynn. We will call her Sara Ava once she is home.

Referral #2-
Her name is really Mildred Desireth. That just didn't
work for me!
My 8 yr. old son asked me before we received a referral could we name their new baby sister Lily.
We loved it and thought it was very special.
So her name is Lilee Elizabeth Rose.
She is named after all the ( our) grandmothers.
Thats were the Lee comes in the spelling is after my
husbands grandmothers middle name.

1st Adoption: Completely changed her name (and we are feeling bad we didn't keep part of it, Ximena, I just love that name now!!!)

2nd Adoption: Changed her middle to her first and first to middle.

3rd Adoption: WE got to name out Son!!!!

I would have like to keep his name Oscar, but my DH hates the name Oscar. He says it remindshim of something dirty.....I think he watched a little TOO MUCH Sesame Street as a child..

For our first child, we chose a new first name, and kept his birth name as his middle name: Christopher Jeferson. For the child we are now adopting, we are using a variation of her birth name, since she is 7 years old and we didn't want to make a drastic change. Her name is Yeraldin, and SHE chose to be called Dena. We haven't decided about her middle name yet.

Ooops! Sorry, I didn't realize this was the Guatemala post! I changed both boys names, because my first one's name was baby boy ______ and the second one we didn't know had been named until after we had changed it and received his obc (bmom knew what we were naming him and later decided to give him the name she wanted). Had I known she named him, I would have kept it, especially since it is so simliar to what we named him. The sw suggested maybe she needed her own name for him.

My oldest son is Hispanic and my youngest is AA/hispanic. My youngest son's bdad was adopted from Guatemala, so I guess I have a connection with you all anyway!
