Repost....Anyone move in the middle of adoption??
Hello....
I posted this before, but I think it got wiped out the day that all the posts got deleted.
Anyway....has anyone moved in the middle of their adoption? If so, what kind of paperwork did you need to do besides an updated SW visit? Does it delay your process?

Contact your adoption agency and do exactly what they say.

Do you have a referral? How far are you in the process? It will matter how far you are into the process,

yes we moved and the SW did another home visit and re-wrote our home study accordingly. I then wrote to USCIS asking for an updated I-171-H (per agency request) with our new address. I had it quickly. Then the updated home study was sent to us and then to USCIS. hope this helps!

We are in PGN....which is one of the many reasons why I am sooo anxious to get out!
I thought if we could just get "OUT", then it would be another month or so to bring her home. I am thinking it would be another 2(at the earliest) before we moved...but PGN is so unreliable!!
Again, I do not want to do anything to slow the process down....so I am trying to stall in the meantime!

My friend was told with her first adoption not to move when they asked about it. The desided to wait till after he was home. He got home begining of June and their house went up for sale today. Once they get their new house (they are buying a farm from family) liveable they are starting the process again.

Hi,

We are moving as well.. but we are so close to being done I don't want to mess anything up. Good thing for us is that we are keeping our home that we did our homestudy in and a friend will be renting it, but I don't want to make things take longer because we are moving. We are in PGN.
