No PINK after one week?????

Our attorney submitted our case to the embassy last Thursday, July 27th. She has been back there every day since to pick up our PINK slip, but without any luck. They haven't told us a word about it, whether something's wrong or not...? So our director emailed the embassy last night to find out what the hold up is, but we haven't gotten a reply yet. Just wondering if anyone else has gone through this, and what the verdict was? From what I understand, if the embassy was just missing our cable 37 (171H approval), they would have emailed our agency to let them know. But we haven't been informed of anything. I'm hoping it's just no big deal, and we'll have pink next week. I can't even begin to think about the alternative...(investigation?)...

Any help or insight would be much appreciated!

PS Oh yeah, technically, the embassy has 48 hours to reply to our email, right?

Sometimes the Embassy just gets backed up and it takes a little longer than usual to get pink. Our pickup was a while ago, but took 8 working days to get pink. After the 6th day of waiting, we had our congressman email the Embassy, they responded the next day that it would be issued the next day, and it was. So, if your pink isn't issued on Monday, you might want to consider this.

Yes, this is true....sometimes the lawyer or their rep cannot get close enough to the front of the line, or whatever, and has to keep going back for several days.

However, not meant to scare you, but MY experience was different. I traveled to Guatemala on the day AFTER they predicted to get the pink slip. As it turned out, a pink was NOT issued after my atty or her rep went to the Embassy several days in a row and were always told "come back tomorrow".

Then, "come back tomorrow" turned ugly, and it was now "tell Mrs. $#% that her file is under investigation with the DHS, and we have no projected timeline for completion".

And so it was. Long story short, DO not travel before you see evidence of the real, live, actual PINK slip. I ended up basically hostage in Guatemala for three weeks in what turned out to be the most horrible ordeal of my life.

Keep us posted!!

Our pink took 2 days, but our friends who traveled early July, took 8 days. They were just backed up at that time they were told. Better get packing though, we only had a 2 day notice to travel!!!!
