Question Has anyone considered participating in this National Geographic project?

I think we will. It only cost's $100. It's about the human joureny - where we come from. I guess it can tells us where we, or our children, originated from. It goes back 10,000+ years. I read on another forum where some parents did this for their Guatemalan children and found their ansestory was from Eastern North America and Asia.

I hope the link doesn't get removed.

My anniversary present to DH

This was my anniversary present to DH, to have this done for me, him and Andres, when he come home. It will be interesting to see what common roots we have, if any. I am Irish decent, DH is Lebanese/Italian, so common roots are not obvious. It has not been done yet.

This sounds really interesting. I'm going to share it with my niece too, who is an Anthropology student.

Thanks for posting the info

That sounds fascinating. I definitely think my family will be doing that later on.

We did this for my Guatemalan son and got his results about a week ago.

His haplogroup is comonally found in North Africa, the Middle East, and less frequently along the Mediterranean coast (specifically Italy and Spain).

We were very pleased with it and are considering doing it for our bio kids as well. Well worth the money!

We are doing this for our Guatemala daughter. The kit came the other day. Now I have to collect the DNA with the two swabs and send it back. I am really excited to see what it shows.
