Post Westin or Marriott

Which is better to stay at. Going down with my mother in law and would like comments on these hotels. Thanks,

My agency recommended to Marriott and so that is where we are staying. Plus if you sign up for a Marriot Rewards Card, which is free, you get a discount on food, which is nice. I have heard great things about this place and although we obvioulsy have not been there yet....we are very, very excited to go. Good luck on your decision. I am sure they are both very nice places to stay. Have fun planning...I know I sure am!

Hugs

We stayed at the Marriott both times. We liked it all -- the food, the service (front desk staff was great, and the servers at La Vista are sooooo nice), and it's clean. The lobby is beautiful. The water is filtered; we drank it, the baby drank it, and we didn't have any problems. I loved the water pressure in the shower -- it only took a few seconds to rinse my hair! The patio/pool area is very nice for hanging out and getting away from feeling locked up inside the hotel.

I don't know if the Westin has one, but the Marriott has a Baby Lounge on the third floor with toys, a TV, bottle warmer, microwave, computer with free internet, etc. It's a nice little getaway.

The only negatives we found: the beds are kinda hard, and the hot water gets extremely hot. I like hot water, but jeesh!

We've stayed at both in Guatemala. I think if you are planning on hanging out at the pool.... the Westin may be for you. The pool is beautiful there. If you want to spend a lot of time with other families the Marriott (although there were other adopting families at the Westin too). There seemed to be more little shops closer to the Marriott... but if you're visiting you won't be taking the baby out. You really can't go wrong with either one. The Westin seemed a bit more elegant, but both are very, very nice. Have a great trip!!!

I've heard both are nice. I stayed at the Marriott and loved it. Someone said the Westin was a little less baby friendly (ie the baby lounge at the marriott etc..) but I think either is fine. I would go with the cheapest rate!

We stayed at the Westin and it was very nice. Request the family floor(6th floor) and there is a baby lounge with sterilizer, etc.

Be aware that the Marriott now charges 50% of the room rate for the third adult in the same room. We have stayed at the Marriott six times and really like the hotel, love the view from the bilevel suites. But considering the exhorbitant upcharge we couldn't see staying there again and paying $60 more plus tax per night for our upcoming trip in Nov.
