Can someone please clarify what the international fee for guatemala is (approximately)? I am getting wildly different estimates from different agencies.

I think it is around $22,000 on average. The reason the fees vary is that some agencies include a bit more in their services.

Anyone telling $10,000 for an International Fee for Guatemala would not be reputable. It's at least $18,000, but closer to $22,000.

For our first adoption we started in 2002, it was $18,000. I don't remember the exact amount, but I think for the 2nd adoption we started in 2004 was $19,000 and the one started in 2005 was about $500 more.

I would say $19,000 - $22,000 for a healthy infant. If the child you are interested in has special needs or is older, then $10,000 might be reasonable. For Erick (our SN baby who passed away in February) the international fee was only $6,000, however that is pretty low even for SN.

Mine was the same as redru2004. I cannot even fathom a $10,000 foreign fee for Guatemala. Seriously. That really makes me wonder.

I think the only time you would see a $10,000 country fee for Guatemala would be for an older child, or a child with special needs that they are trying hard to place. For a baby or toddler adoption you are looking at the $18,000 - $22,000 range.
