"social investigation" What the heck does that mean???
I just received email from our foster mom saying that she had "good news". She said that she was told by the facilitator that they might be going to see the judge for the social investigation.
I don't know what that means. The word "investigation" has me upset. We have had our Pre Approval since June 27. I thought we were just waiting to get into PGN. Does anyone know what this means? I can't ask my agency until tomorrow and they are on a different time zone so that even makes it worse. Help! Someone tell me this really is "good" news.

Feb. 1, 2007 - this is really getting old!! 3rd visit trip Feb. 1-4th Feb. 21st and we still don't know what KO#2 is even for?!?!?!? Guess it wasn't a KO after all!!!!!! Feb. 22 OUT OF PGN!!!!!!!! March 26th 2007 leaving for extended pick up trip! March 29th - Happy 1st Birthday Kate!!  Home forever on April 27th!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise God!!!

I bet it's the Family Court Interview. Both my babies had to be "interviewed" by a Family Court social worker. The foster mother took them there and the foster mother was asked questions too. This is a good thing!
For us, only the birth mother and baby had to be interviewed, then we were out of FC about 3-4 weeks later. But, I don't know if a judge was involved in FC. Let us know what you find out.

I am not positive about this but this is what I am thinking.....
I noticed in all three of my childrens social workers report it stated that the social worker visited the place where the child was. She saw the facility, spent time with the child, looked at the medical records, and talked with the childs care givers. I wonder if that is what she was talking about? Just a guess, but that's the first thing that came to my mind. Hope this helps!

Yes, the foster mothers are interviewed by Family Court, so that is probably it! That's good news - means your case is moving along, although if you thought you were almost in PGN and Family Court is not done, you may not be as far along as you think.... (we had FC interviews in February, exited FC March 2nd and then entered PGN on April 6th) Either way - I hope you hear great news soon and that you FLY through PGN!!

Family court comes before PGN. I think this is definitely good news. This sounds like the SWI (social work interview).
