Tanning Question

Okay, I do put 60+ sun protection on my 2 year old daughter. However, she tans like there is nothing on her. Also, I 've noticed she tans super quick like in ten minutes but it has gone away by the next day. Sometimes it even seems heat induced...we are in hot and humid North Carolina.

The color tone of her skin is beautiful! I didn't let her get in the sun last summer because she was so young and thought it was just funny how she was tanning this year.

Do any of your children tan this same way?

Payne

Yes! We're also in NC, and when I set my daughter in her pool for 15 minutes she gets VERY dark. Like a dark, dark chocolate color. It does fade some, and her face doesn't get as dark. Mostly her legs. Too cute!!!

That is so funny that you mention this...

because on our recent vacation I noticed this on Patrick. I was especially annoyed because I couldn't get my legs to tan if I stood on my head all day. I <and don't be me up here> DO NOT put sunscreen on my legs - but do the rest of my body and get nadda on my legs. I bathe Patrick in it and you can see the beach shoe and bathing suit lines!

We're in FL, so I make sure to put at least a 30 spf on my kids... Bryce gets an almost instant tan anyway...It's funny because we were in Alaska a couple of weeks ago,and both of my girls came back several shades lighter just after 10 days...

Oh Kenna had a band-aid on one day and she even had a tan line from that. I just make sure when we do family photos I am on the light side of the family so I do not lik so pale.

YEP!! We have had mega doses of sunscreen on Luke everytime we've been out and it's like he has nothing on. Yesterday was the major turning point and within about an hour, he looked 10x's darker than when we got in. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous!!!

You and me both! I swear Lauren and Daniel can get a tan from the overhead lights in the house, and I could spend the rest of my life lying on the beach in Hawaii and still look like Casper! (And at this point I could REALLY use some tan to help cover the varicose veins!)

My 4 year old looks like a different child in the summer (and we live in Chicago)!!! We are at the pool everyday and she also wears 50 SPF. Wish I would tan that easily
